Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi I also have an H1,  The contract expires March but apparently I can upgrade from next weekend.  I would like to know why I have not received one of the codes to change phone for free that other 360 users seem to have got.  I have been a customer for 14 years.

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi, sounds like the same reason I didn't qualify. If you are able to upgrade before the closure deadline the you have a means of avoiding the problem come 31st Dec; can't say I was best pleased but I can sort of see the logic.

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi Tech Team,

I am also in the middle of a samsung m1 360 vodafone contract and am wondering what my position is? I was called by a vodafone customer services number the other day but was unable to answer. I am assuming the call was regarding the discontinuation of vodafone 360. Apparently I am able to upgrade online but at a cost to myself for ending the contract early. Am I correct in thinking that I am able to swap the handset (which will be quite frankly useless after 31st Dec) for one which I will be able to use for useful things such as maps and email by taking it into a vodafone store? It is just rather irritating as im sure many people will be feeling that we were sold this 'smartphone' with features which are soon to be unusable. I must also add that when talking to the person who sold me my contract I asked for an 18 month and was given 24 months (my mistake as I should have checked it myself).

If the tech team could get a customer service representative to contact me (preferably in the evenings) to explain what I can do that would be great. Also any help from other samsung360 users would be much appreciated.

Sam

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Dear vodafone, since my text msg about the 360 service closing I have had no text msg with a voucher as one of the other posties has had, (what a brilliant idea ) nor have I had any contact from vodafone saying what help they are willing to give now that our phones are going to be near usless. please could you clarify what vodafones position is on this, and how they are going to help us out. Thanks.

I do believe that this may consistute "unfair changes to contracts", so some nice help would be good.

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing IM NOT HAPPY WITH VODAFONE

Vodafone

Having been with you for over 10 years Im feuming to find that the contract I WAS SOLD is now been altered. Is there any way I can stop this contract as its not fair that YOU ARE stopping me from using the contract THAT I chose to take out with YOU.

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi 123wayside,

I understand your frustration with this however, we do have a team that are in the process of discussing options with all of the customers effected and unfortunately you will need to wait for this call from the team in question.

Jenhaggis, you don’t need to worry as you will be contacted again however, I am unable to give any timescales when this will happen.

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi Lee,

I have replied to you email and hope to hear from the team dealing with the 360 closure soon.

On the email it suggested ringing 191 and speak to someone, I assumed, the tech team. I did this and although they are aware of the 360 closure and replacement program they say they cannot do anything about it and I have to speak to a specific team. What is this team and is it possible for you to give me their number so I can get in contact ASAP to sort this out.

Any help would be much appreciated and if you cannot supply me with a (free) number to call please can you pass my email onto the appropriate people.

Regards, Sam

From what I read here then that the phone will loose half its functionality ? Well that's not too good ! How do we get a voucher to swap the phone then ?

I currently own Samsung H1 and will have this contract for couple of more months, I should say this phone was ###### and now without the 360 services it's even worse so you VODAFONE SHOULD BE THINKING OF IMPLEMENTING AN ANDROID UPDATE TO THIS PHONE MAYBE??? TO MAKE IT USABLE AND MUCH MORE STABLE THAN THIS ###### LIMO OPERATING SYSTEM.
You have the rights, GO ON, do something and make it HAPPEN, it's not that hard, many other samsung phones have ANDROID and they are flying even with lower specs than this H1 phone. This phone has good specs I could say buy not with this nighmare LIMO os... so as you are cancelling the 360 SERVICES you should start thinking of creating an android update or something similar because this phones because unusable ..... or I will be speaking to you in a very different way if nothing is going to be done or changed.... getting on my nerves with all this useless stuff, you don't help your customers you are just making evrerything worse, and worse... Why choose this unbelievably slow limo os? any explanation for that ? I don't think so... could have been android and no one would complain about anything I am 99% sure...

The decision to use LIMO is an old one, the fact it may not have been the best choice has been discussed many times, both are not worth talking about any more, they're history.

The key thing to focus on is that there are many thousands of Vodafone users out there with expensive phones that will loose major parts their functionality when they switch off the 360 site.

Vodafone know exactly how many 360 phones are still in use and in my opinion if customers are still using them in their current form come 1/1/12 then they're going to be pretty disgruntled customers when the phones stop working properly. I can only image when this happens Vodafone will loose a high percentage of them to other networks.

As I see there are only three option to stop this:

  • Update the firmware so 360 login is not required for enabling features
    • Could done on the current LIMO or via a new OS eg. Android. The latter being more expensive
  • Replace the phones for free or a nominal cost
    • Probably the most expensive option for Vodafone
  • Keep the 360 server going
    • In the short term probably the cheapest but how long could this be justified

Thoughts anyone ?

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

i have 2 samsung m1 phones for me & my mrs on my contract & i was called a couple of weeks ago by someone from vodafone to tell me about the 360 service ending & was offered a early upgrade but when i asked what i would get i was told for the price im paying now i would only get around 150 mins a month even though we both get 700 mins, 250 texts, landline calls & net so i told them no thanks i will stay with what ive got now.

the thing is if the phones we have now are not going to work as they should due to vodafone turning the 360 off should they not offer a ugraded phone & stay on the same price plan as we are on now ???

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi sam360,

Please accept my apologies for the late reply; we were never alerted to your post.

I've sent an email asking for some details. If you could reply I'll be able to pass them on to a contact that will be able to call you to sort this out.

Hey inspiral,

If you're on PAYG then a voucher code should have already been sent via SMS. If you've not received one then please reply to my email and I'll also put you in touch with someone that can help :smileywink:

Hello there rich19970,

Thanks to you too, for your post. Would you mind giving us another go? I'm sure that's wrong, unless you were getting a discounted price plan. I've also sent you an email. If you can reply we'll be sure to see if there's anything better for you.

Cheers all,

Lee

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi. I have 2 x H1 phone and due to closure of 360, I want to change my phones. I spent about 3 hours on the phone last week but couldnt get anyone to recognise the problem. Eventually, I did have a call back from vodafone with a very poor upgrade offer (could get a better offer on the high street for about half the monthly fee offered by vodafone) so I'm not going down that route. In addition, I am still waiting for a credit of money taken wrongly when abroad in 2010, 2011 and 2012. My only option now is to claim money back via the direct debit guarentee or small claims court! Please can you ask someone to call me to discuss this. I have been with vodafone for 25 years and no other network provider but I want to cancel my contract and go elsewhere now. I understand I can buy out of my contact but I expect vodafone to credit me for money taken illegally via direct debit. The customer service has been dreadful. I feel that vodafone has defaulted on its contract to provide me with 360 service for the 24 months. In this case, vodafone should make some offer to compensate for this. Wanting to charge me more than current prices on the web site is not acceptable. That is taking advantage of the customer who bought the 360 phone in good faith.

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi,

I went into my nearest store which is in Derby on Monday to exchange my phone, but was told that because I am on PAYG I couldn't exchange my phone because they haven't received the stock to carry out the exchange which is fair enough, but I will apparently will have to make special journeys into the city at £5 a time to check if the stock has arrived because they were clueless about when it would arrive, could I please have an estimated date of when the stock will be there.

Many thanks,

Gingerwomble

Re: Vodafone 360 Closing

Hi I had a Samsung H1 on a contract but passed it onto my wife, who is on PAYG, after I upgraded. She received a voucher code via SMS but she's deleted it.

I was wondering if:

1. She is entitled to a replacement handset on PAYG anyway, and
2. If the voucher is gone forever or if another can be sent.

TIA for any information.
