I have an LG Optimus 7 (E900) on Voda pay monthly and a few days ago finally received my update notification for 'Mango'

However I cannot complete the update! My phone is trying to update to 7.0.7403.0 (the one before Mango) and I get error code 8007001F EVERY time! Having done some searching there are others with this problem but most of them seem to have a dev phone or beta of some sought, there is no reason mine should be! It was paid for and purchased direct from Vodafone last Nov/Dec brand new! I cannot seem to find an explanation of this exact error code anywhere on Microsoft or the like, although it is suggested that I may need an update from LG before I can apply this update.

quick google search bought up some help you could try:

A couple of things they sugges are trying a different cable and USB port on your computer and re-tryig. If that does not work then have a look on the support.microsoft.com website and search for the error code and see what comes back.

I have tried another usb cable and have the same result.

While I appreciate your response I'm afraid that is of no help at all! That link does indeed show that someone else has the exact same problem (although with a different phone and I think also from USA) if you read the thread he has had no help or answer either! The error code doesn't appear on the microsoft support website as a phone error!
I did do an extensive google/microsoft search before posting here but didn't find anything of any use which is why I posted here!

As the software is not goverened by Vodafone they would naturally point back to Microsoft who may be able to offer the support you are after, if you also post on their support pages the issues you are having then you may be able to get a response from Microsoft on the issue faster than if Vodafone were to escalate to Microsoft regarding the problem.

Jebelious is right, in the fact we are quite limited in what we can assist with when it comes to an issue with a specific Microsoft product.

When updating any Windows device, however, the specific model of handset doesn't have much relevance. They all use Zune, and the error are generic across the range.

If you take a look at this thread on the Microsoft Help Pages, it suggests what the error is, and also a possible resolution to this.
