I would like to ask if Vodafone would give free or discounts on handsets to pay as you go customers like other networks do?

They already susbidise the cost of PAYT handsets if they think you are joining the network.

You only have to look at the PAYT unlocked handset costs and compare them to the SIM free offers which you can use any network SIM.

Very easy to buy an unlocked PAYT phone with a network SIM, toss the SIM away and get the phone cheaper.

I understand your point, but im already a customer and I top up alot, so I think giving me a discount on a new handset would be good reward from Vodafone

If you go into a Vodafone store and purchase any PAYT handset as an upgrade, it is already subsidised.

I dont know if Vodafone still do, but they used to give PAYT customers a bonus when called for a number transfer with the SIM from the upgrade.

PAYT customers could not expect an upgrade at the same price it is given to contract customers, since they are not committing to a lengthy contract and giving Vodafone a guaranteed income.

At the end of the contract, when it is all added up, contract customers have well paid for their handset.

Its the same for SIM only contract customers, they supply the handset and get their airtime cheaper.

I bought a new handset in feb and I didnt get any discount from Vodafone, plus i have been with Vodafone for more then 1 year.

It is correct to say that we do in fact subsidise handsets considerably, as AnnS has mentionned, Thanks Ann! A handset bought sim free/box only would be considerably more than a PAYT handset sold with a sim.

Have you seen our Freedom Packs for PAYT customers? There is plenty of reasons to stay loyal to us as you can now get better value for money using these packs and making your Top up go further.

If you're looking for a new handset, why not come over to contract! You will get a great handset and I'm sure we can find you the perfect plan to match! Take a look at our online store for all our fantastic deals!

I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to trade in your old PAYG handset for a new one, you would need to purchase a handset in store. When we have PAYG offers or any loyality bonues, we will contact/text you to let you know. I'm afraid it's not something we can simply add onto your account.

If you have online billing, you can pay your account online.

You can also pay it in a Vodafone Store. You can call Customer Services and pay it over the phone with a credit or debit card.

As long as its paid they will be happy.

Apparently loyalty bonus scheme available on 17298 has now been removed and replaced with bonus bank ,I would have liked to have been informed about this ,as it would have been nice to know if I was entitled to a bonus on a PAYT upgrade ,now I cant check .I was going to upgrade my phone ,but am not sure whether I want to stay with vodafone now
