Reactivating expired mobile number

Hi,

Mid last year I ended a Pay Monthly contract with Vodafone and requested that the mobile number be transferred to a PAYG. I've spent the last 6 months in the US, where I wasn't able to connect the sim card to any network, in order to keep the number live (I understand that chargeable activities are required every 90 days or so to do this).

Now that I'm returning to the UK I'd like to see if the previous number can be  reallocated/reactivated for me to use. Can anyone tell how/if this can be done please?

Thanks,

JGunstone

Hi,

On Payg activity needs to occur at least every 180 days to keep it active.

Once a payg account is suspended the number is quarantined and re used.

Have you tried ringing the number.

Having the number re allocated to you is slim.

Hi @JGunstone

It's a difficult one for sure. The number could well be disconnected for non use.

However, it won't do any harm asking Vodafone and trying. This can be done by using live chat.
