Change from monthly plan to PAYG

I have 2 phones on contract and 1 is way out of contract

We have both retired and live in a signal blackspot, although the coverage map says excellent. Voda reps who have called have found out the truth when trying to sell a new package - lol

It is not just Voda, all I have to do is look out of the window to see people using mobiles outside.

Can I cancel the old contract, buy a new phone (PAYG) whilst keeping the old number (contract) and use it in the new.

My wife likes her number

If you see what I mean:smileyhappy:

The infomation you need to cancel your contract can be found on the following link.  If you contact them to make the contract cancellation, you will also be able to request them to put the number on PAYG.

Howdo I end my Vodafone pay monthly contract ?

You would also be able to carry on using your present phone, but would need to change the internet settings from contract to PAYG.

If you are having problems with reception at your home, you may like to take a look at the Sure Signal.  This will give you perfect 3G signal.

Thank you AnnS

I have looked at Sure Signal in the past but for the amount it is not good value for us.

Besides-

I keep my router completely 'clean' and am very happy with 16Meg

We have been with Vodafone a long time now so I think I will go in to the local shop cancel the old contract, have the number switched to PAYG, buy the new phone now (on offer in Jan) with sim, wait for the contract (old) to terminate & change to Payg and switch sims.

This will give us a back-up phone

I think it will work?

Re: Change from monthly plan to PAYG

I never expected to be charged to change the sim to PAYG from contract

It's almost as if Voda would prefer me just to leave
