Re: Free Gift Text Problem

Hi, my daughter received the fre gift text on her mobile. As she doesn't have internet access on her mobile (teenage daughter!), does this mean she can't claim the free gift?

Seems a bit harsh to me.

Re: Free Gift Text

Hey Guys,

It does look like there was a temporary issue with the link working however, from what I can see it looks to be working again.

Please can you all try to switch off WIFI and connect to the link again and let us know if the issue continues so we can flag it with our support teams again for you.

kennymca,

Unfortunately she will need to have the internet set up on her phone in order to activate this service and select a free gift.

When you say she has no internet access, is it just the phone that isn't set up or has the SIM been bared from accessing the internet?

If it is just the phone then we can enter the settings under your supervision and you can then remove the settings after she has selected the free gift.

James

Re: Free Gift Text Problem

I also cannot open the email from my HTC handset. The message reads, CONNECTION FAILED, THIS APPLICATION REQUIRES NETWORK ACCESS. ENABLE MOBILE NETWORK OR WI-FI TO DOWNLOAD DATA.

Hope you can help and I get my free gift. Thanks.

Re: Free Gift Text

Hi r30ser

I am sure that we can get this confirmed for you.

To do so I will need access to your account, I have therefore just sent you an email, if you can reply back to that with the relevant information, we will then be able to get this to you.

Hi albcj1

Welcome to the eForum :smileyvery-happy: it is always good to see new faces on here.

Are you able to gain any internet access or is it just when you are trying to open that particular email?

If you are not able to get onto the internet, I would make sure that you have the correct settings in the phone to help enable you to view this.

Can you have a look at our Help Centre and select the phone that you are using and then follow the process to get the settings.

Please let me know how you get on :smileyvery-happy:

Thanks

Martin

Re: Free Gift Text

I've had this text this morning, and when I click on it I get an error message saying "Sorry We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again later and if you are still unsuccessful contact our support team at operations@ migcan . com with details of the problem" If it wasn't for this thread confirming the texts were legit this looks incredibly dodgy.
Can you help at all? (I'm using an iphone 3gs and have the wifi turned off)

Re: Free Gift Text

I have received one of these today. I phone Vodafone and was told it had been reported and they had not sent me such a text which seems contrary to everything listed on here!

The web address that is shown in the message is http://live.vodafone.co.uk/zr/gifts which redirects to

www.kilrush.mobi/mcs/publish/1869/15444 which does not load.

Can someone me if I've not stupidly been duped into confirming anything about my phone or vodafone account?!!

Re: Free Gift Text

Keep trying it.  Remember to turn off wifi and just use mobile internet as it says in the text.

I had to try a few times.  The address of the website will change to something like 'kilrush' but its fine.  The gifts are

free 0870 0845 etc

free 1000 landline minutes

10 music tunes

I went for the  free 0870 etc.  You don't need to worry about it being chargeable after the free 30 days, it simply stops working.  That was the first thing I checked as I knew I wouldnt want to keep it going.

Hope you get through

Re: Free Gift Text Problem

It does say it can take a couple of days to activate.  They will text you when it goes 'live'

Re: Free Gift Text

Hiya, I've received the free gift text and am pleased to say it's worked. You'll get three choices and I've selected free 0800, 0845 and 0870 numbers but Note.... Offer only lasts for 30 days!!

Cheers :-)

Free gift text

I recently recieved atext from Vodafone saying:

Thanks for being our customer, We'd like you to choose a free gift. Click free: http://live.vodafone.co.uk/zr/gifts you need to turn off

Wi-Fi if its on.

At first i wasnt sure so checked the forums which seemed to say it was ok from ppls post and the Vodafone moderators.

I have followed this link which took me to what looks lile a Vodafone wap site but it said my gift was already claimed and they'll txt me. I had not yet followed the link so now i am unsure how legitamite the txt was, can anyone help.

I am a little concerned as this is not the first time that I have had to doubt Vodafones security and data protection.

Hi karlpharris

Welcome to the eForum :smileyvery-happy: it is always good to see new faces on here.

As you can see this is very legitimate as many others here have confirmed that this is ok.

So that we can help you further with this I have just sent you an email. If you can reply back to that with the relevant information we can look into this for you.

Thanks

Martin
