Hi - I have a Voda PAYG SIM and I will be travelling to Barbados soon. I'm slightly confused with the data prices, in particular International Data Traveller.
One page says its £5 per day for up to 25Mb (good value), another says it is £5 per day to use data traveller but doesn't mention per Mb charges.
So can someone confirm please what I will be charged per Mb using the SIM, so I can prepare before I go.
Also, the info pages for rates make a distinction (and different charges) for using phone, laptop, iPad etc. I tether my phone to the laptop, on another network I use for data it makes no distinction when using my laptop so on Voda is it purely Mb used or is there a specific rate for tethering?
TIA.

You will be able toi find the cost of calling and using the internet wilst you are in Barbados on the following link from the website.
You will also be able to find the charged for using the internet for the Rest of the World Zone, on the following link which is £3 a MB up to 5MB, then £15 for every following 5MB. The charge for using your phone tethered to your laptop is £25 per day for up to 100mb also found on the following link.

Hi - thanks. I should have posted the original link on the Voda website - http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/goingabroad/costs.
Can you shed any light on this? Thanks

You pay £5.00 per day for up to 25mb, when you have used the allowance, you pay the standard cost of £3.00 per mb up to 5mb then £15 for every 5mb. In other words very expensive.
You may find that the hotel you are staying has WiFi available. To avoid the charges, it would be better to turn off data roaming or put your phone on offline mode and use WiFi where possible.

Thanks - I think that helps, the £5/25Mb is very good compared to what I have been quoted for wi-fi etc at the hotel, and should meet my needs as I'm not planning to log on everyday or go mad on downloads. Unfortunately it seems internet over there is still a luxury, so to find it free or at UK rates is near impossible. Even the local GSM operator doesn't offer data on PAYG so buying a local SIM won't help, so I'm hunting for a relatively cheap roaming solution.
