New PAYG Dongle - K3570

Hi Gus,

Not sure what you mean by 'had expiry' - can you clarify?

The newer modem does not have a faster top-end speed, but remember that the speed of your connection is determined at network level - what mast you connect to (3G or HSDPA, for example), how close you are to the mast and of course how many users are connected to it. All these factors will affect your top speed.

Most revisions to modem technology are simply to refine production - smaller or more power-efficient internal components built at a better price. This is the way of technology, sadly, and your new device is practically obsolete as soon as it's released as the manufacturer is already planning its 'next of kin' for release 9-12 months down the line. This shouldn't bother anyone really - otherwise one would never buy anything for fear of not having the latest technology! :)

If you have any problems with it or need further advice, please let us know!

Re: New PAYG Dongle - K3570

This is my first experience of using a dongle. Are they all this pants or is this one exceptionally poor.

I checked the coverage for my area and it said there was broadband signal strength available. If there is this device cannot find it.

Took it into work, where I could get the blue light. As soon as I tried to connect the red light started flashing and error 635 was reported, although I can connect with the green GPRS v.v.slow connection.

Add to this that there is no provision to connect an external ariel, I think I've been sold a pup.

Hi Longjonsilver

Welcome to the eForum!

It's disappointing to read you’re unhappy with your purchase.

Have you tried downloading the latest version of the software?

What version of Windows are you using?

Thanks
