I have a freedom freebie pack but when I do *#1345# it says Your balance is #0.10. To check any remaining allowances please call 1345 for free. Thank you. It's true I have no money on my phone but I like seeing this on screen balance, phoning up all the time is a nuisance.I'mjust wondering is this a fault/issue or is this how it's going to be all the time now? Help would be nice, thank you.

As part of our review to simplify our process, products and services we identified that the *#1345# (these codes are sometimes referred to as USSD) used by customers to retrieve their detailed balance was unable to continue in its current form for a number of reasons such as the limit on the maximum number of display characters available & not being able to support future products.
Due to this the message has now been changed and to receive your allowance information you will need to call 1345 free of charge.

Thanks for getting back to us here.
You are using the correct command (USSD) to obtain your onscreen balance and I wasn’t aware of any issues with this service.
As there has been a bit of confusion on this thread can you confirm if your are only getting your balance by using *#135# or is this not bringing anything up at all?
If you are only getting the credit amount then this is correct and we are unable to change this back to the old style of message.
If nothing is showing when the command is used, please let us know so we can get it investigated for you.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Unfortunately what you have been told is incorrect as the old text has been replaced with the new one as it is proving difficult to get the information within the character limit in the response to the USSD command.
The only way to get this information now is to call 1345 and you will then hear an automated voice on the PAYG top up line where you can choose to hear you remaining allowance form your handset.
This was implemented on 18/05/2012.

I am very disappointed that I can no longer get an onscreen display of remaining call and text balances on Vodafone.
Other phone companies can provide this information as a reply to a SMS text message. Do Vodafone have this option?
Dialling 1345 and then having to listen to a message isn't really any use as I need to see the information on the screen.
