So, I topped up on Thursday through the website because it was pain the bottom to do it using Vita's browser (only in the end it wasn't the browser but the website in general).
And what am i hearing now?
Oh...You needed to top up using Vita's browser. Really? So you are saying checking sessions and not the actual sims? Sense...it makes not.
Oh...You had to buy Vita from Vodafone to be eligible. Really? What are those Vodafone stickers doing on Vita then? And where was it stated?
Oh...We just wanted your money kthxbuy. And no point complaining to Ofcom bcause none of this in tnc. Really? This is boderline embezzlement then.
I think i'll give vodafone a fair chance until tuesday to debunk the above and to solve this problem or at very least ensure the customers that the fix is on its way.
If not i'll make sure to complain to the right places.

You do NOT have to purchase from a vodfone store to be eligable, as long as it is a 3G vita and you use the sim in the box, this is all that matters.
The whole, how to top up scenario is extremely hit and miss, some people have topped up by voucher, others by debit etc.
Longstory short, Vodafone have dropped the ball, failing to train staff on the matter and how to offer a functioning delivery service.
I received my wipeout code last night, but not after 4 1hour plus phone calls, 5 different operators over 3 days and twice asking for my 'ticket' to be elevated to members of senior staff.
I genuinely wish all those still without codes the best of luck.

After 5 calls, a visit to the Vodafone store, 3 live chat sessions and Voda blaming Sony and vice versa I am still no closer to getting my Wipeout code.
This is really bad PR for Vodafone (and Sony).
Has anyone worked out how to actually get the code?
I'm about to throw my machine and sim card out of the window.

Hi again guys,
The PS Vita does not need to be purchased directly from Vodafone in order to qualify, as GastricTitan has pointed out. I will feed back that the incorrect information is being given out.
chowyunfatt - I tried to call again but missed you. If you can reply back to my email response, that will come into my queue and I can look to pick that up when I'm back in tomorrow. Include any times not to call so I've got the best chance of reaching you.
ScottBull - I have sent you the private message regarding how to contact us so we can resolve this earlier today.
SlyfoxRich, RogueTrooper211, fwrudiger, TheChaos0, mazbar - I'm popping you the PM now so we can get this looked into for each of you.
You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hello iv been watching the forum since the 22nd and this is my story .I bought 2 ps vita's 1 for me and 1 for my son and toped both up via ps vita . My son resieved is code 30 mins later and i didnt ...iv phoned vodafone and it seems to me they hav'nt got a clue how to fix it. Deffinatly random who gets codes and who does'nt no matter how you top up.

Can you add me to the list as well please? Bought a 3G Vita in a Vodafone store today and topped up £5 in store and cannot setup an account online as keep getting an error message when trying to register and can't do it on the Vita as I'm only getting GPRS speeds where I am at the moment.
The SIM card seems to be working however, I am getting the security codes when trying to register and can surf to the vodafone store (albeit verrrrry slowly) so it is working, it is just the account registration that is failing every time.
Also I just realised that I wasn't given the 4GB memory card when I bought the Vita today, is that something Vodafone online customer services can send to me or do I have to drive all the way back to the store to get it?

i have now waited 96 hours and the rest waiting for this code! im actually at breaking point right now ! iv been promised call backs , refunds and so called workarounds( obviously to get me off the phone and wait another 24 hours before having to call back ) all which have not happned which is appauling !
im seriously sick and tired of this now vodaphone really have no idea what there doing wrong !
my issues still have not been answered ! instead i get asked if i could wait 24 hours everytime i ask them a question !
my issues are as follows:
>My Vita Does NOT recieve text messages
>i have waited more than 24 hours and have still not recieved my code
> i have not recieved a activation message (whereas friends have )
>i have not recieved my wipeout code even though they say they have sent it ( then say they havnt )
i simply just want some technical help , and no none of the guide links to top up as i have done that twice both with the help of vodaphones customer service all to no avail ! i want to know why i cant recieve texts and how to fix it and why my code for wipeout is yet to come !
come on tech guys whats going on there has been a few days passed and no new news on any of the matters ?
i also recieved the PM however it wasnt very helpful unfortunatly as the contact us page kept crashing, i did however manage to send it off in the end I was then greeted with the new vodophone motto " will get back to you in 24 hours"
SOO the chances of that happning are very slim indeed but thanks for a response dave

What's going on? Please can someone sort this out. I'm not very happy. Especially as a new customer to Vodafone!

Please add me to the list too - been on the phone to Vodafone reps 3 times and into the store twice and a different story has been given every time, including lied to multiple times by phone reps who told me it was only meant to be for Vodafone Vitas. I had to tell him the T&Cs of the deal and he didn't even seem to know any T&Cs existed. I've been in an almost identical sittuation getting my iPhone unlocked from Vodafone with being lied to and generally given a really hard time by phone reps - thankfully the forum team did a much better job - hope you can do the same for me this time, I've had enough of this hassle.

Hopefully if enough of us make some noise Vodafone will realise that putting their fingers in their ears and going "la la la" isn't gonna' help anything.
I've been asked to use the "Contact Us" form to contact Vodafone, which took me 3 attempts to get working, but eventually it did; so I'll see what's happening there.
I'll give it until Tuesday, if not, I too shall be contacting OFCOM, Trading Standards, Watchdog, news media, SpongeBob SquarePants and anyone else who'll listen.
Perhaps we should ask that we receive unlimited 3G until this issue is resolved as compensation, you know, to show that we're appreciated customers to Vodafone, that'd be somewhat of a way to show us that we're not being ignored; we should all at least get another £5 added to all of our accounts anyhow to compensate us for the phone calls where it seems that many other people have also been treated in a very rude and sarcastic manner.
Think, if 10,000 of us have topped-up and not received our codes, that's over £50,000 for Vodafone, and that's before you've added the compound interest and profits from investments.
Remember to use the www.saynoto0870.com website as well to get the freephone variants of their pay-per-call premium-rate numbers; they've got enough of our money as it is padding out their corperate wallets....and to think some people are trying to work out why Capitilism isn't working.
I'm a comedian in addition to other trades, and even I'm finding this beyond a joke.
By the way guys, I host an internet radio show; I'd be more than happy to provide everyone a way for the unhappy chappies here to voice their concerns, and in the interest of fairness I'd invite Vodafone too so they could explain themselves.

You have GOT to be kidding... this is a wind up right????!!!!
I got my PM from Dave inviting me to fill in my details so they can get right back to me, so i've done all that... and guess what I got back when I clicked Submit...
"Customer Notice. Sorry...
This service is unavailable. We're working as fast as we can to resolve the issue, and hope to restore the service soon.
The rest of the site is working as normal - use these links to continue browsing."
Right - enough is enough, OFCOM here comes another complaint your way.
And a cc to Spongebob Squarepants also. (Great idea ScottBull)

I too have been messed around by Vodafone. I bought my Vita on Wednesday and followed all the instructions to set it up and tried to top up by debit card, it kept telling me a verification code had been texted to my phone - it isn't a phone. I contacted customer services who told me I needed to top up over the phone by voucher the first time. I went to Asda and bought a voucher. Called them back, they activated my sim and I received a message. No code.
Called them back on Thursday and was told by customer services that he'd heard people had sometimes had to wait up to 72 hours for the code. Knew he was lying to get me off the phone as the Vita had only been on sale for less than 24 hours. Even if people had received theirs a day earlier it still wouldn't have been 72. Told me to wait another 24 hours. No code
Friday, called back was told that my Sim hadn't been activated - even though the credit had gone on(?), he'd sorted it out and after putting me on hold for about 10 minutes told me he'd escalated it to his manager who would send a code out. No code
Saturday, called again and this time was told that it was only people who bought it at a Vodafone shop could get it,. Argued the case and eventually, after talking to his manager, he agreed. Code should be on it's way. No Code.
Sunday, Are customer services even open today? I'll try them in a bit, after I've emailed Ofcom and the BBC show Watchdog - which is back on TV soon, and we all know how they love to get their teeth into a scandal like this. Might even drop Rip Off Britain a line too.
Can I have my code please Vodafone. This is my first ever dealing with Vodafone - and probably my last. Just glad I don't use them for my mobile.
Forgot to say, when I look at the system information on my Vita it says Phone Number - but there is no number listed. Should there be one there. The IMEI code is listed.

I have been trying to top up for the last day now and get constant card error with my Visa. Then i try to register on the site and i also get an error something about Business. Not very good to be fair. Anyway i don't know if this will work for everyone but i just tried on the off chance to do my top up through Internet Explorer and not Firefox and it worked 1st time for me. Quite strange but i guess i will be in the same boat as everyone else now and wait to see when this Wipeout code comes.
