Hello
I've have the 'freebez' reward tarriff on PAYG, so I want to create an account. However when it comes to regisering for an account I don't know my PIN or Date of Birth. I recived the Sim when I was about 8 (and i'm now 20) and no longer in contact with the person that gave it to me, yet i'm in control of the phone, and have been for years.
So how do I find my PIN?/change the account to my name?
I've tried e-mail before yet the people at Vodafone didn't understand.
Many thanks

Hi gazro_32,
Your best option here would be to give Customer Care a call.. They will have to ask you some security questions, and provided you give all the correct information they should be able to change the registration details into your name.. They will also be able to set up a PIN number for you

Hello gazro_32
The problem here is going to be whether or not the SIM is registered to the person whom you have lost contact with and that person is the owner of the number.
Unless you are the registered owner, and know the password and PIN number there is very little Vodafone can do to change the registrations details to your name even if you have been using the number for the last 12 years.
I am sure a member of the Tech Team will be along soon to give you some help and advise and will be able to check whether the number is already registered.
The other alternative would be a new SIM card which will have a different number but at least you will be free to register the number in your name and open your online account.

Hi gazro_32,
As AnnS says, what we can do for you depends on whether the original owner registered their account details.
If they did, then we could only speak with the named account holder for security, no matter who was the actual user.
If they did not, then we'll be able to help.
I'll pop you a PM so we can take a look. Just follow the directions inside to get us the details.
You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.
Dave
