Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Guys,

Hope I can get more help here than on the Vodafone CS line

I ported a quite valuable number into Vodafone PAYT on 18/2

The port worked, and I made calls on the SIM on the 19th.

All was well.

The next day the sim displayed the message 'sim card registration failed'

I phoned Vodafone CS, they told me the number was disconnected but couldn't tell me why.

They referred it to a manager.

Nothing happened. 3 days later I phoned back and was told the same story, I'll refer to a manager.

Yesterday, same story.

Today I got the number porting helpline. They have no record of the number porting in, no record of the original SIM number (even though I registered it on the phone with Vodafone when I gave them the PAC code and I even have a receipt from CPW for the SIM!)

I made calls on the SIM befoer te port, and after the port, yet there is no record of this either?

Is someone from VF trying to steal this number? It is quite valuable.

All I'm being told is that it's being referred and to wait 24 hours. Thats every day for 5 days now, which is 120 hours.

Has anyone experienced anytbhing like this before, or have any advise on how to proceed??

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Hiya, it sounds disappointing what you have experienced.

Where did you set up the port to PAYT ?

The following guys should be able to help you   PAYT customer services 08700 776655     also the Porting team 08700720265.

It is true that care needs to be taken when there are porting issues, in terms of they want to sometimes ensure the security of your number to make sure it is not given away to anyone else, with this issue I would call PAYT customer services, ask to speak with a team leader given your experience, confirm the name of who will be calling you back........ you have waited long enough and I am sure it can get resolved or at least explained to you

good luck

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Having left a contact number 3 times I'm not sure anyone will be calling me back.

I'll be taking legal advise on Monday, as these are expensive numbers.

The bit I can't understand is when I phone the regular CS team, they can find the number on the system, see it was ported in, and see it was disconnected. They can also see my details as the owner.

When I phone the specialist porting team, they have no record of the porting in number, or original SIM number EVER being on Vodafone.

Absolute joke. I'll be doing the rounds on all the forums today to see if anyone else has had trouble.

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Hiya, sounds like a horror story.

So just to be clear it was originally a move from postpay (contract) to payg .... and that happened recently and it was active for a period before and after ?

And the customer service team can see your number and account number showing on postpay.  Did you ever top it up ?  Was it ever 100% on payg ?  I wonder if it was just cancelled in error and thats where it is now.  The solutions as far as I am aware would be to speak to postpay customer services, ask them to check that cancelled account which will show if it has been cancelled, ported out to another network or ported internally to payg.  Ask them to speak to them team who deals with the management of VF numbers, who can confirm where the number is (all in different groups I am told) & ask them to confirm via your sim card what part of the network it is on, from their systems they can see various stuff.

If its just been cancelled and you can pass the security questions then they can reconnect your number as a postpay and then move to payg.

I hope you get it resolved, and your point if fair if VF has made a mistake and these things happen then it would be fair to ask for your costs in calling inwards

Good luck

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Just reading your original post, you said that it worked as a PAYG on the 19th, was this for sure, did you top it up, were you able to check your balance, or was there just a delay in your number cancelling and then it was disconnected.

Re-reading it I would speak to contract customer services, 08700 700 191 and ask them what codes the number shows when it was cancelled from being a live postpay number.

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Hi Berty,

The number was ported in from o2 PAYT

The transfer went through, the number was working on Vodafone PAYT and I made a few calls successfully.

Then the SIM was disconnected by Vodafone later that day and no-one knows why.

Hi demonloop

I've just found your account via your email address, I can see the SIM last showing as registered on the 23/2/2011.

Have you tried thid SIM in a different phone?

if you can reply back letting me know the outcome of that I will be in touch shortly.

Thanks

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

Hi Ben,

The number linked to my email address is not the number in question. That one ported OK.

I had one ported before that one, and one after that have both vanished into thin air.

In BOTH instances, the regular CS line can see the numbers, and see they have been disconnected, but the number porting team have no record of them ever being on Vodafone. An absolute shambles.

No-one will call me back, they just refer to a manager over and over. I've been on the phone every day since Tuesday with no success.

One of the numbers is *supposed* to be back in the queue to try porting it again, the second is still floating about somewhere in the VF system.

If you can send an email to my email address I can email you the numbers in question.

I really need this sorted asap.

Re: Problems porting number (s) into Vodafone PAYT HELP!!!

8 days later and my number has not completely ported into Vodafone.

I can make calls out and text out but no calls or texts in.

I'd advise anyone thinking of porting to VF PAYT to be very wary, I've been getting the absolute run around for several days.

Needless to say, as soon as the number ports in, I'll be requesting my PAC code again.

Hey demonloop,

Thanks for your post.

I'm really sorry this has taken so long to resolve. I can see George and Ben have this in hand. I expect George will email you once he's had an update.

Cheers,
