Text & Web Freebee not working!

I ordered my Vodafone Freebee Text & Web SIM online. When it arrived I put it in my phone and activated by calling 17298. I then topped up by £10 as instructed on the leaflet with the SIM. To see if my Freebee had been activated I sent a text but I was charged for it. I followed the instructions on the leaflet exactly but something hasn't worked properly :smileysad:

 

Hopefully someone can take a look at it for me?

Just posting to say that it seems to be working now, so no need to look into it!

Took a few hours after topping up, but I received a text saying I now have my freebee and have tested it.

Hi Jessie93,

are you definitely opted in for the Text and Web Freebee?

If so and you have topped up and still not received your free allowance after 24 hours, then your best option would be to call Customer Care a call on 191 from your phone, so that they can look into the issue for you

I got a Vodafone sim and opted in to the text and web freebee I toped up £10 and got my allowece i then tranfered my number and lost my freebees. I toped up another £10 but havent recieved my allowence, when i call 2345 it says that i am opted in but i dont have any allownce, it has now been 9 hours since i toped up and i dont understand what i am doing wrong?

I'd also suggest that when you top up next time. do it BEFORE your credit runs out.

BECAUSE....

There is always a delay between topping up and receiving your tEXT AND Web Freebie.. often an hour or two. In the meantime your phone will be trying to access data from somewhere and so you'll get a £1 charge for a day's data (or whatever the current rate is now.). This is the case EVEN THOUGH you've topped up.

The expectation is that, you top up, it gets acknowledged, you get your service. But alas, no... you don't. It can be a couple of hours before you get your freebies. When I do this know (if I forget the above..) I turn off my phone (I'm sure it's possible to just turn off the data). But be warned: if you turn the phone on again before your freebie is available, you'll instantly be charged for a day's data.

I've been stung by this a couple of times and nowhere in any of the literature does it say that this happens. But it does!!

i had to make a new account as it wont let me log in at all on my other account but again numerous times i have topped up £10 a month and since joining vodafone about 3-4 months ago ive never recieved my text and web freebies, i dont know what the reason is for this as it says ive opted into the text and web freebie so any help would be greatly appreciated?

Hello,

 

I do have the same problem like anybody else. I have bought a new Text & Web Freebee Pack two days ago and it still isn't working although I have been chargedand received the activation text (and have used it before). Is this related to me not topping up straight before/after the last months allowance ran out? Your help would be very much appreciated.

when my texts and web ran out i opted back into the freebee, then had my phone topped up but no texts or internet has come through! this is the second time this has happened

My text and web freebee expired in the beginning of February and I have topped up twice since then and the text nor web allowence came through neither of the times, while I'm still getting the freebee rewards. When clicking on the link to the freebee it in my current extras the page is missing as well. Please help :/

I know the literature says to allow upto 24 hours for your Freebee to be applied, but sometimes it seems to take much longer at present.  Ringing 191 to get it sorted can also misfire, as the Freebee is applied but a setting gets changed so that mobile internet access is denied - so you're back to 191, and trying to explain what has gone wrong. 

 

There's a very strong case for topping up well in advance of the expiry of your current Freebee.  As I have a monthly £5 Family Group subscription deducted from my balance about mid-Freebee, I have to top up in advance of that.  This means my top up is made a good 2 weeks before my Freebee expires - even with this ridiculously large safety margin, there are still occasional gaps before the new Freebee kicks in, though none (yet) longer than 24 hours.

 

I'm not saying this is how things should be, but it does seem to be how things are, and it's as well to act accordingly if you want a relatively smooth ride.  Any senior Vodafone executive reading these columns ought to be gutted by the light it casts on the robustness of their systems - but perhaps they also want a relatively smooth ride, and avoid looking.

I have had the text and web freebee for 2 years using the same number and same phone. 

I have 2 problems, the 1st is that over the past 5 months I have topped up endless amounts each month and I have not recieved the freebee.

I am very unsatisfied. The 2nd problem is that I have freebee rewardz to spend and it will not let me spend them.

Either someone can help me sort these problems out or I am leaving Vodafone.

I've just got a new Vodafone sim and have the text & web freebee deal. I topped up £15 so I should get 500 texts & 500MB Internet but I haven't recieved this yet? Please help!?

How long is it since you’ve topped up? It can take up to 24 hours for a Freebee to be activated on your account.
