I have been a vodafone customer for over 6 years (in Italy) and only a couple of month with Vodafone UK. I have tried to top up online the other day with no success. I Kept on receiving a message saying that some of my details were incorrect etc. I have noticed that this is a common problem so can someone please explain to me how vodafone deals with this???.
I mean I have never had any problems topping up online with my Vodafone Italian Operator but here it seems impossible. My credit card is originally from Italy so its the billing address is this maybe why I can't access the service?? IF that's so its ridiculous for such a Company.

calgully is correct - the site only allows top-ups from UK cards. The error message you're getting is because the BIN range is not recognised.
We do have a number of other ways to top up available which are designed to offer as many options as possible to customers, whether you are visitors or generally based in the UK.

I bought a pay as you go phone last time in U.K. I'm going back and would like to top up the phone before leaving. There's probably a small amount of time credit, but I want to be prepared before I leave. Vodafone help has suggested registering the phone, which I cannot do, because I can't connect to a network. Get a friend in Scotland to buy some time for me and send it, well that's cumbersome, and I'm a tourist, domn't know anyone where I'm going this trip. I'd like to buy time online, from Canada, has anyone done this?. Again, I can't access or register a "my account" because I can't get my sms message with "the code"

I think the acceptance of the payment should be left with card companies and not MNO. Vodafone should delegate this validation to payment processors and not themselves.
