Reactivating expired mobile number through non-use

I have an old phone I keep as an emergency. It hasn't been used for a while and the number seems to have been deactivated. Can I reactivate it? Keeping the same number?

Hi @SteadyEdd

You need to refer to the PAYG Terms and Conditions.

However, there is no harm asking Vodafone.  Please use live chat and they will be able to advise if it is at all possible to get the number back.

Well.....used LiveChat and seemed to have no problem. Said it'd take 24-48 hours but was very straightforward. Asked for the number and the serial number off the SIM card. We'll see tomorrow.

Hi @SteadyEdd

The number needs to be used to make calls or text use data or top up at least every 180 days.

If not then the number can be suspended and put back into the number pool to be re issued at a later date.

If the number has just been deactivated then their is a slim chance.

After that unfortunately the number is most probably lost to you.
