Recently purchased a £15 per month Sim Only 12 month contract for my son.  Thinking of changing from Vodafone PAYG to Vodafone Sim Only 12 month contract for myself, can I get a discount for having a second Sim Only Contract?

I have had deals offered when i've taken out a second line before. 

As to what you get offered depends on the contracts your looking for etc.

It’s great to hear that you’re thinking about moving your other number over to a SIM Only package.

Nabs is correct in saying that there are discounts available for taking a second line, but this is where it’s a contract with a handset as part of it. A second SIM Only package wouldn’t get a discount.

Iain I'm afraid you are mistaken, 12 month sim only contracts are entitled to a discount for having more than one, eg 600m and unlimited texts for £10 is what my son has, I believe they are called household connections (almost certain that's what the chap in store said)

I went to a Vodafone store today because i wanted to get a 12 month sim only sim and bring my number over from o2, went through everything chose the £10 300mins unlimited text deal and proceeded to purchase. Turns out as i already have a contract with Vodafone (which i will be getting rid of when out of contract) she said i would get an extra 300 mins so i would get 600 mins and unlimited texts for the same price. (Great)

I'm not complaining..., but i noticed the tariff on the contract is listed as SIMOHH 600M UTX and is priced as at £10 but what happens when i close my other contract down does it turn off this sim too? I ported my main number in so don't want to lose it because i wanted the 300m unlimited txt deal for a long time to come?

EDIT: I should of pointed out my number ports over on the 31/05/11 so the sim is not active as yet anyway...

Hiya, if you now have 2 numbers on your account and one is cancelled the other remains active.

The SIMO HH stands for household, it is a discounted price because it is an additional line, if it had been set up as this it won't change, though when you went to upgrade or change at any point you probably wouldn't get quite as good a deal as at that point you will only have 1 line, however just keep it running and the price will stay !

Yes, each number on an account can be cancelled seperately
