Account Issue - trying to cancel

How do I cancel my Vodafone contract?

I think it runs out the end of this year, but I wish to cancel now.

Basically I feel like Vodafone have robbed me. When I last got my upgrade (over the phone) in April 2009, the person I spoke to said he would throw in FREE internet dongle. I didn't want or need it, it got sent anyway. The dongle has remained unopened and unused as I have never had any use for it. To my horror I found out that I have been getting charge £6+ a month for this.

I spoke to customer service direct about this point and basically I was told tough.

Customer Service is appalling. On an unrelated issue it took me 5 calls to them get a problem sorted and a while back, and on another occasion, by error my inclusive texts and minutes for some reason were removed from my account leaving me with a extortionate bill!

I feel like Vodafone dont care about existing loyal customer like me

As I said I feel like Vodafone have robbed me, and I dont want to give them another penny of my money.

can anyone tell me the procedure for cancelling or point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Hi,

Seems you havn't had a good experience!

Regards to the internet dongel, he could have ment that he wouldn't charge you for the actual dongel ( besacue you usually have to pay for them)

Regards to cancelling: You have to write to Vodafone wil someting like 30 days notice. Also if you ring up 191 one of the options is "If you're thinking of leaving us press X" so i would try that and they will give you more information. They will probably also try anf offer you a prefferential rate to try and keep you as a customer.

Sorry i can't help more.

Account Issue - trying to cancel

Good Evening smjb

Welcome to the eForum

Sorry to hear that you are thinking of leaving Vodafone. As doddster78 correctly pointed out to cancel the contract we require 30 days notice to cancel the contract, which can either be sent via letter or email. To send an email just complete the form under the Contact Us Section on our website.

If you are still in contract then you will be required to pay a termination fee to get out the contract. The termination fee is worked out in the following way.
If you pay £35 per month and you have 10 months remaining then you would pay the rest of the months line rental excluding VAT and you would a 25% discount off of the total so it work out at £223.43.

Cheers

Nicola

im in almost the exact same boat mate and i know quite a few people that are not happy woth vodafone(unscrupolous sales tactics for starters, not caring for my learning disability or issues that ve adressed in this forum or in several letters causing for me to spend over a grand in bills over 15 out of 18 month contract) the only way out is to pay a cancellation fee(cost of remaining month line rental) its probably best to stay and just move on to a good provider like three learning from the mistake of coming here.
