Bt OpenZone Access, how?/Query about packaging of phone

[ Edited ]

I've now got this on my account and am wondering what I use to get it to work? I've had no documentation with any username or password to use the service.

Also when I got the phone delivered there were stickers on either side of the phones box saying "Peel me first before opening" but under each 1 was the same sticker (so 2 stickers on either side) which you could see had already been pulled apart in the middle, why would that be? I'd have thought there should only have been 1 sticker either side not 1 that had already been peeled off at each side then another stuck on top of those 2 to give the illusion the box had never been opened.

Thank you.

If BT Openzone is included in your price plan, you need to activate it by logging into your account.

Further help on the following link from the website.

Using Wi-Fi with BT Openzone

If you are not satisfied with the phone which you have been send and think it could be a returned item, do contact Vodafone and ask for it to be replaced.

I can't see the option to activate it in my account AnnS as there isn't an option? I have since found out though to use the Bt OpenZone I just need to login with my account username and password, is that right?

Also if it was you what would you do (honestly) with the phone based upon the photos below showing what I mentioned, as you can quite clearly see there were 2 stickers either side, one on top of the other.

To activate BT Openzone from My Account, click on My Details, My Profile and scroll down and tick BT Openzone.

Can certainly see what you mean with the stickers, looks like it could be a returned phone.

Hi again AnnS :smileyhappy:

I've just done as you mentioned and it says BT Openzone Wi-Fi, Current Status then it's already ticked. And then says "Unsubscribe" "No information present" just after that

Do you think I should ring 191 and request for the phone to be changed then Ann? As I was going to do that anyway as I wanted the  Bold 9900 in Black originally but it wasn't in stock at the time, not sure if it will be now or not.

As it does look like the phone may have been returned, factory reset then put back in the box and another sticker put over the ones already used. I mean the phone looks new but I did want the Black one to start with anyway :smileyhappy:

Hi Pookielydia,

Thanks for your question.

Sometimes, if a firmware update has been released by the manufacturer, we will remove the devices from the shelves, update the firmware, and replace the sticker. It really is nothing to worry about. It's your call, of course, but I thought I should put your mind at rest :smileywink:

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Bt OpenZone Access, how?/Query about packaging of phone

True Lee,

I'll have a think anyway if I want to return it and get the black one.

The firmware on this white one anyway is 7.0 Bundle 1465 (v7.0.0.296, Platform 5.0.0.496) which doing some research seems to be the latest 'Official' update released by Vodafone, but not the newest official firmware available for the Bold 9900.

Anyway, I'll have a think and decide re: whether to ring 191 and exchange it for the black one I originally wanted.

Thanks for the advice anyway :smileyhappy:
