Buying app on Google Play market

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask this question !

I have tried purchasing an app through the google play market, and I've selected the charge to my Vodafone account option. However, it is not letting me download the app, is this because the order has to be processed by Vodafone and therefore there is a delay before I can access the app, or has something gone wrong here?

Many thanks.

Re: Buying app on Google Play market

Hi mischawatson

Thanks for your post. Just to confirm, did you purchase your handset from Vodafone directly or do you know if it's a Vodafone branded handset? If it's unbranded then you won't be able to use the charge to your Vodafone account function.

We'll also need to check that billing to your Vodafone account is provisioned at network level, so I've sent a private message with details on how to contact us so that we can check this.

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Simon

Re: Buying app on Google Play market

Hi Simon, thanks for your reply.

I've been with Vodafone since July 2010, I upgraded to the HTC One X last week. This is the first time I've tried to purchase something through the Google Play Store.

I am getting a "Sorry, you do not have sufficient privileges for that action" error message when I try to access my private messages, I've clicked on the second link you provide but there is no "Turn on private messages" box on that page?

Thanks and kind regards.

Hi mischawatson,

Thanks for letting us know you're unable to access your Private Messages.

I've taken a look at your profile and cannot enable this feature right now.

I've therefore emailed the management team to enable this for you. I'd do it myself but don't have the necessary access :smileysad:

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Buying app on Google Play market

Thanks for the call Kay, I'm afraid it didn't work so as requested I will post some further info here.

Removing the content bar did have one effect though, it removed the Vodafone option altogether !

So what I did was log into my googlemail account and delete the Vodafone info from in there. This seemed to reset everything.

I then went back to the Google Play store, back to the app I'm trying to purchase, and tried to purchase it again. Same result, it lets me input my details, but then the option to purchase through Vodafone is greyed out. I have a screenshot which I can send to you in a private message to clarify the bit I'm stuck at.

Kind regards,

Mischa

Re: Buying app on Google Play market

Hi mischawatson,

As you've had a call from Kay, that suggests you followed Simon's PM, so just reply back to the same email chain - you should have received a receipt confirmation from the first email, and may have had further emails from us later - and this will allow you to send the screenshots to us where we can link them to the details we already have from you.

We're unable to address queries directly via PM.
