Cancelling my contract

I want to cancel my contract as i've lost my job and need to find something cheaper.

I rang up and asked how much it would cost (my contract ends in august) and she said it would be £58 which is all well and good, but im jobless and moneyless so it would be pretty hard to do that.

I was just wandering if anyone would know if i can pay the cancellation fee monthly on a direct debit or something, as that would be easier for me...

If not i will have to wait until the cancellation fee is cheaper.

Re: Cancelling my contract

Hello cmw93

Sorry to hear of your job loss, it is never a pleasant situation to be in.

To cancel would mean paying off the remaining time left on the contract.

Your other options would be to arrange for a repayment plan with Vodafone for a monthly amount which you can afford but this would still mean the contract would have to be fully paid.  Alternatively, if you know of a friend or relative who would like a contract until August, Vodafone would be able to do a change of ownership.  This would mean the new owner passing Vodafone's credit check critieria.

Re: Cancelling my contract

Hi cmw93,

Welcome to the eForum - I'm sorry to hear about your recent change in circumstances.

AnnS has summed up your options very well here, there isn't a great deal that we can do for you in these situations - it may be that the best option is to let the contract run down and pay the termination fee once it's at a more manageable level.
