Cancelling my contract

I would like to cancel my contract.

I still have an Iphone 4 from this contract which I'm going to sell to pay of the remaining line rental of 5 months.

I would just like to know what I need to do to get this done?

Thanks,

Rebecca

Re: Cancelling my contract

Ok, thank you. Is there anything specific I need to include in the letter?

Shame I haven't had a response from anyone at Vodafone.. I've been trying for over a week to get an upgrade so I've had enough.. They're not even willing to reply to this.

It seems that Vodafone just dont really care for their customers. Great to know :smileyhappy:

Re: Cancelling my contract

rebeccahugo,

Vodafone really do care about their customers, it's a shame you have been unfortunate to experience some unsatisfactory support. Hopefully all your issue can be solved on here.

Firstly as shinwar mentioned get the handset unlocked. This can be done for free whilst you still have the contract. Out of contract there would be a charge. To request the handset is unlock fill in this form. Apple usually take around 48 hours to unlock an iPhone after the request has been processed.

Finally you need to give notice of cancellation.

You must give 30 days notice and provide the following information:

• the account name, and account number
• the invoice address
• the mobile number to be terminated
• the date of termination
• the name of the account owner or administrator
• if you need a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code)
• if the account has a password, please quote this in your letter.
Ths can be done in writing to:

Vodafone Limited
PO Box 932
DONCASTER
DN4 5XW

In your case there would also be an early termination fee that you would need to pay.

This can be worked out as follows:

(number or months remaining X monthly contract cost) -VAT@20% = Early Termination Fee.

A call to customer services on 191 will be able to give you the exact figure for your contract

Just a final thought on getting an upgrade have you tried the @vodafoneukdeals twitter team? They specialise in upgrades! For info on how to contact them head over here and follow the instructions. They are a small and very popular team so they may not reply straight away, stick around though as one of the team will get back to you as soon as they can.

just a thought, you could offer to return the phone to vodafone themselves to knock down the early termination fee?

Charlieh95,

Vodafone would not directly purchase the handset abck from you. You would need to trade in the handset via the BuyBack scheme. You would get cash for your handset which you can then put towards covering the termination fee. For an iPhone you looking at around £200 through BuyBack wheras you could sell one on ebay for around £250

@rebbecahugo did you give the @vodafoneukdeals a try?

Re: Cancelling my contract

Hi rebeccahugo,

Thanks for your post.

Apologies for the delay in the response, but we’re a small team and are very popular at the moment.

I can see that Amanda spoke to you yesterday and she was able to agree a new upgrade package.

Cheers

Ian
