Contract Cancellation

My contract came to and end in December and I want to upgrade to a better phone, why when my contract has ended am I told I still need to give 30 days written notice? Also why can't Vodafone themselves offer the same deals on Iphones that you can get through the likes of carphone warehouse via a vodafone contract?

You don't need to cancel if you're staying with Vodafone, just take an upgrade via the online system or a Vodafone shop ( or indeed by calling 191 )

If you want to leave and port your number to another network, simply phone up and ask for a PAC code - there is no need to give the 30 days written notice unless you want to end the contract without keeping your number.

If you have a furkle through the threads, you will find innumerable replies detailing why Vodafone can't match the iPhone deals offered by the independent suppliers, but basically it's because Apple are such ######.    However as you have noticed you can get better deals through CPW but still have aVodafone contract. You may not be aware but CPW can also offer Upgrades to existing Vodafone customers, which in your case would appear to offer the best of both worlds - why not go and have a chat with them and see what they can do for you ?

Re: Contract Cancellation

So Vodafone are prepared to lose valued customers over the price of a iPhone. If I phone to get a PAC code does it have to be used in a specified time.

Re: Contract Cancellation

Hi barney1981,

A PAC code lasts for thirty days, after which you'd need a new one. As soon as you use it with another network, that cancels the line with Vodafone at that point.

That said I'm going to pop you a PM to get you speaking with our Upgrades Specialists, just to see if there is any suitable deal for you that they can offer.

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Dave

Re: Contract Cancellation

I received a message saying that someone was going to phone me regarding my issue with vodafone either on Friday or Saturday, and surprise surprise I'm still waiting. I must say the customer service I have experienced over the last few weeks has been appalling.

Re: Contract Cancellation

Hi barney1981

Thanks for coming back to us here.

I’m sorry that you have not yet had a call regarding your issue. Due to the Bank Holiday weekend wait times are a little longer than what we would normally come to expect. Some one will be with you as soon as possible.

Thanks

Wayne
