The likely answer is ....

 

440Mb is Download and Upload usage total.

274Mb is solely Download usage.

 

Note the Disclaimer at the bottom of page 1 stating that the operator usage may differ.

This does seem like a possible answer however it then raises a new question.

Why does the My Vodafone App only show downloaded data when Vodafone charge for both downloaded and uploaded data?

That is a good point.

 

Maybe that is why they have that disclaimer.

As a rule of thumb i would always take the highest figure given to prevent any issues but then again, i doubt the accuracy of any data or usage apps just from experience.

 

I would be interested to hear a valid explanation for this.

Hi Guys,

 

Thanks for your post here.

 

When it comes to data usage you will be using your data allowance for both upload and download as it is all classed as packet transfer.

 

Looking at the pictures above I can see that the last update on the My Vodafone App was 15/04/2012 and the in built application is up to date, so there is 2 days of data missing from the My Vodafone App.

 

The test would be to switch all of your data services off in the phone for 2 days to see if the usage totals then match up when all of the network information has been updated to the APP.

 

This would then give a clearer indication of any discrepancies.

Am i maybe being a bit thick., The data is counted on your billing cycle rather than from the 1st of the month isnt it?

Thank you for the additional information.

 

You are right in that the data is calculated in line with your billing cycle.

 

Underneath the graph it shows a breakdown of what apps have used what amount of data, what data has been used in your browser etc

 

Do these figures add up to the amount shown?

The latest update on your 'My Vodafone' app is the 15th and the data counter is up until the 19th so there is four days discrepency.

 

What we would need to do is check the data on your account here and check that this is in line with the app as it would appear they are taking two different readings.

Thanks for your call this morning :smileyhappy:

 

I've just installed 3G Watchdog on my handset to see how much data it thinks i'm using over ther next few days compared to My Vodafone and the built in Android counter.

I'll post back with results.
