Discounts for retired civil servants?

Hi. Earlier today I was speaking to an ex work colleague of mine who mentioned that Vodafone offer a 20% discount for civil servants on a pay monthly contract over I think they said on £20+ a month tariffs. The person in question is retiring shortly and is of the opinion that the discount once applied remains for life.

Would this discount be available for retired civil servants?

I've read on a few various sites about needing recent payslips, I.D etc. Although I'm retired, I do receive my civil service pension/payslips etc. I've failed to find any information regarding retired civil servants eligibility.

Please say yes!

Thanks.

Regards
Welshman.

The detailas of the Employee Advantage scheme is here - Vodafone Employee Advantage

as for T&C's of exactly who is eligible, and in what circumstances you normally need to confirm this with your "Employer"

the discount must be requested within 30 days of upgrading/connecting and must also be re-requested every time the contract is changed i.e upgraded again...if not eligible after retirement/once retired the discount could be requested by a friend/colleague who still is in employment with them for you, but they would always need to action it every time you changed your contract...

Hi Welshman,

You would need to be a current employees working at one of the partnered companies to qualify for the discount. It's also only available on new lines or existing customer upgrades and much be applied for within 30 days of the start of contract.

Once applied the discount is usually valid until the contract is changed so in theory if your colleague never upgrades or changes their contract then it would be valid for life.
