Early Upgrade

Hello all,

This is my first post so please be gentle with me.

I am coming up to my early upgrade date which is the 8th of July and would like to go for the HTC Trophy phone, it says there is a fee to pay to upgrade early but no one will tell me how much I am looking at.

Could someone please give me a rough idea of what I am likely to pay as if it is too much I wont bother.

Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi whyayemincepie welcome to the eForum, it's great to have you here!

The fee you pay depends on a few factors such as how early you're trying to upgrade and what phone you've chosen - the price will show in the basket under "total to pay"

We can help you with your upgrade though (and maybe help you get it a little earlier & cheaper too :smileywink:)

I've emailed you at the address you used to join - reply to this and we'll give you a call to get you sorted out.

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi Paul,

I apologize if this post is off topic, I am new to the forum.

I have been doing some research across the forum and I can see that you have been very helpful to various other vodafone users, I would now like to request your services and would be most grateful if you can help me!

I have been told that the absolute earliest I am due an upgrade is 5th of July (next week) which is apparently an 'early upgrade' online, I got told that it was more than likely that I would have to pay a fee towards the handset due to it being so early.

I appreciate that I am officially not out of contract until November, but I have become quite frustrated with Vodafone due to the fact that when I took out the original contract on an iPhone 3GS, I didn't take insurance (my fault entirely) and sod's law stated that I would lose the phone within 3 months (which I did) So I had to resort to using my old handset, which is a BlackBerry Storm. So I have been using the Storm, reluctantly for the past however many months, and as you know they are not the most reliable handsets, in fact, I am overjoyed when it actually lets me make a call.

So, the reason for my longwinded message is that I would like to ask, as a longstanding vodafone customer, if there is anyway that I can have my early upgrade to an iPhone 4, without having to contribute to the cost of the handset. Having already had to put up with months and months of a contract where-by I am not even using the handset I was contracted to.

I would very much appreciate any kind of assistance that you could offer.

Kind Regards,

Aaron McMordie-Ives

Re: Early Upgrade

Good Morning TiniePopcorn,

Welcome to the eForum!:smileyhappy:

It does sound like you've had a bit of a nightmare with your current handset so I'm more than happy to look into an early upgrade for you. The iPhone plans are set so we can't deviate from these; you can see the deals we offer here

An email is on its way, please reply with the details requested and I'll be in touch as soon as possible to discuss the options.

Best Wishes,

Kay

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi,

I was sent a text stating I could upgrade early and thought this would also be a chance to lower my price plan owing to my current financial position, I was very disappointed to be told I could not lower the price of my plan, I have been a vodafone customer for about 15 years now and have never asked anything, but I find everytime I go to upgrade now I never actually get the phone I want and somehow end up paying a huge monthly amount, I'm on the £40.86 plan at the moment and also have mobile broadband so my bills are coming in at £70 a month. Whilst I realise that great offers should be offered to new customers surely longstanding customers should also be treated accordingly.I'm so fed up of being treated in this way I am thinking of leaving Vodafone and becoming a new customer at another provider to get a nice handset and a more manageable tariff.

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi plug10_0,

I absolutely agree with you, long standing customers should be rewarded for their loyalty too :smileyhappy:

Upgrading early usually means 6 months early these days, and this can sometimes stop you from lowering your price plan as your current contract is for an agreed length of time during which you should stick to the plan agreed.

That said, I'd love to see if we can help - I've sent you an email, hit reply and once we get your details in we'll give you a call to discuss

your  options :smileywink:

Sorry, I realise this isn't the proper place to post, but I've read through this thread and you've been so helpful PaulE,  would you help me please?  I'm allowed an early upgrade 15th August, but would really appreciate help :smileysad:

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi,

I am currently on a £35 a month contract, with my early online upgrade date being 29th August.  I have been a loyal VF customer for a few years now and also have a 2nd line on my account.

My current phone has been fairly annoying for a considerable time (the touchscreen seems to have lost its sensitivity and the emails and texts are temperamental) so I have been keen to upgrade for a while but realised I was nowhere near the early upgrade date.

Ideally, I would like to upgrade as soon as rather than wait and would like a white iphone 4, keeping my tariff around where it is (certainly no higher) and the upfront cost as small as possible.

I wonder if someone could help me.

Thank you

Lynn

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi everyone,

First of all a very warm welcome to the eForum for missprim! We're always delighted to see new faces on here. Many thanks to spongerob500 for posting too. :smileyhappy:

I'll be only too happy to help with an iPhone 4 early upgrade for you both. Our tariffs are fixed and agreed upon with Apple but you can have a browse of them here should you wish to see what's available for each budget. I've sent each of you an email to get in touch and make the necessary arrangements together securely. We'll drop you a call once we hear back! :smileywink:

xxAbixx - I can also see by this thread that your query was resolved for you last month.

Cheers, Ben

My current phone has been fairly annoying for a considerable time but on Saturday I dropped it and , you guessed it, smashed!!!! so I am keen to upgrade ASAP

Ideally, hopefully as a reward for my loyalty to vf for all these years!!!!, I can pick up a deal on a White iPhone 4 with little if any upfront costs :smileywink:

Any help would be greatfully received.

Thank you

Re: Early Upgrade

I can now upgade one of my handsets with you early. However i am really looking for a HTC EVO 3D and was very upset when you removed it from the coming soon page. So is there a way i can still get an EVO 3D with you and if so early?

Cheers Ben

Hi paullyons,

Thanks for your post, which I’ve responded to here.

Hi bm150,

You can find more information on the HTC EVO 3D here, but we do stock a great range of phones, plus we showcase our forthcoming phones on our Coming Soon page.

If you see one that takes your fancy, just let us know and we’ll be more than happy to get in touch and get you a great deal. :smileytongue:

All the best

Re: Early Upgrade

I wonder if you could also help me too. I recently asked about an upgrade from my Sony Ericsson Elm, which after just under a year is now starting to look very shabby, the metal on the grey main control button is starting to peel away, one of the numbers is also starting to peel and worst of all, it has an absolutely terrible camera, taking pictures indoors or at concerts is impossible.

The last person i spoke to offered me an upgrade which would have meant paying more than i already am per month and extending my contract, which although did'nt appeal i was prepared to do, but i was also asked to contribute nearly £100 towards the phone i wanted, so i refused.  I've been with Vodafone at a guess for ten years or more so any help would be appreciated.

Re: Early Upgrade

Hi LDC

As you are only 1 year through a contract this would mean that you will probably have 6 - 12 months remaining on your current contract. This puts us in a situation where we can only offer 12 -18 month contracts which have a higher cost per month and possible handset contribution towards a new handset.

I would like to cover all options for you so that you can get an upgrade. I have therefore just sent you an email, if you can reply back to that we can then discuss all of the offers together.

Re: Early Upgrade

Good afternoon,

Another person that seems to be slightly confused by the whole early upgrade business.

After looking at my account online, I have been advised that I can upgrade early under the 190 day scheme. Also the phone IVR says that I can upgrade from next Thursday (so slightly confused here)

I've tried to process an online upgrade and when I select the phone I want, it says there's a fee of £75 (not ideal, but OK) I then go to the price plan part, and it wont let me keep my current price plan. Infact it will only offer me a £62 a month contract with 3000mins, which I

don't want or need.

Can someone help as I'm starting to pull my hair out.
