Early Upgrade?!?

Hi, First time posting, Just looked on my account and it says im eligible for an "early upgrade" could someone please explain to me what this entails? as the information in the support section is completely unclear. Do I get a new phone and a new plan? do I have to pay for the phone? Is my contract extended? I currently have the iPhone 4 on A £30/35 contract and was told by custoemr services I could get the iPhone 4S as an upgrade for free?

Thanks

Rob

Re: Early Upgrade?!?

Hi RobBerry23,

The early upgrade offers you the chance to get a new handset up to 6 months before the end of your existing contract.

The period of time you upgrade early will be added onto the end of a new contract that would start fromt he day the upgrade is processed, e.g. f you upgrade the full 6 months early and take a new 18 month contract your total new contract would be 24 months.

You will indeed get a new handset and plan, the exact amount you pay for this will depend on the tarrif you choose when upgrading.

At present there is a £55 upgrade fee applied to all iPhone early upgrades. this is to cover the remaining cost of your existing handset.

Unfortunatly the iPhone prices are pretty much fixed at the moment. Take a look at the current prices.

Once you find a plan that suites your needs the best thing to do is contact the @vodafoneukdeals twitter team. They specialise in upgrades and new lines! For info on how to contact them head over here and follow the instructions. They are a small and very popular team so they may not reply straight away, stick around though as one of the team will get back to you as soon as they can.

Re: Early Upgrade?!?

Hi Rob / Amanda,
This is also my first time posting. I have been looking to upgrade my phone and it appears I will be able to do this from tomorrow via the 6 month early upgrage option. I am on a 24 month contract with 6 months remaining and have a nexus one. I am looking to go with either the IPhone 4s or the galaxy nexus. However, I am a little concerned from reading the boards that the online upgrade process is not as straight forward as you would hope. Also, there appears to be an upgrade fee and limited choice of price plan. I just want to continue my current price plan and features (minutes, data, texts) and as i am happy with Vodafone and want to stay with them I can't see why there should be a charge, after all, I didn't pay when I became a Vodafone customer.
Would anyone in the techteam be able to help me.
Many thanks,
Rob C

Good Morning Robert27,

We're more than happy to look into your upgrade, we're very popular at the moment so it is taking more time than usual to get in touch.

If you would like us to help with your upgrade please reply to the email I've just sent and a member of the team will be in touch as soon as possible.

RobBerry23 - As above, it is taking longer than usual to contact you back but we will definitely call!

Best Wishes,

Re: Early Upgrade?!?

Wow Early Upgrades are so over-priced, If I want to upgrade just before my contract ends, do I have to change my price plan? I'm not willing to pay an extra £10 a month for less Data and a less minutes thats just ridiculous!

Re: Early Upgrade?!?

Hi rachael787

Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum from myself and the team. :smileyhappy:

I am afraid I cannot answer why the store would not allow this, it is down to the store managers descretion and that will be influenced by the amount of stock available and the number of devices already allocated.

If you have an order reference number I will be more than happy to chase this up for you and see what status your order is currently in and what options are available to us.

RobBerry23, Thank you for your post, Would you like one of our sales team to contact you and go through your options? If so please contact us through email as you have previously and one of the team will be in touch to go through the best available options.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Many Thanks
