Re: Early upgrade fees

Hope someone can help me. I'm eligible for the early upgrade on the 14th october. I want either the iphone 4 or samsung galaxy s2 and keep my monthly payment at around £30-35. I then found out you need to pay a fee if you upgrade 6 months early! Why is this as if i was a new customer i would get it for free?? As an existing customer i should get a discount to stay with them.

Could someone let me know if there is any good deals that would be available to me for either of these phones without having to pay the upgrade fee??

Re: Early upgrade fees

I clicked on the link in a moderators reply to get access to early upgrade menus without the early upgrade charges and the link doesn't work! It has no price plans available. Please help I looked at upgrading early yesterday to an iphone4 16gb black on a plan for £39 a month no upgrade fee, then when I look today its £46 a month £55 upgrade fee vodafone could not answer me on why this changed overnight when I rang them any who can help please do so. I want an iphone4 16gb black or white with no early upgrade fee for less than £40 a month!!!

Re: Early upgrade fees

How 'early' before the actual upgrade date i.e. 21st Oct can offers be loooked at? Also do you need to have an idea what phone/contact you want for the offers or is there a way to see what offers are available with different handsets as I'm undecided still.

Thanks in advance

Re: Early upgrade fees

Hi daniphone and philth145

We can certainly look into this for you both, I’m sure we can find a package that you are more than happy with.  I’ve sent emails to your registered addresses, if you could send me a reply back with the details needed then one of the team will get back to you.

Let me take this opportunity to show you how Vodafone like to say thank you; take a look at VIP:smileyhappy:

Cheers

Re: Early upgrade fees

I replied to the email with all the required details and was told someone would call me within 48 hrs and that was 4 days ago and I'm still waiting for that call!!! Vodafone are gonna lose my custom soon if they don't pull their finger out!! Been with them 8 or 9 yrs and have almost always got good service but this is now abissmal how they treat their long term existing customers!!! Might go see what O2 has to offer!!

Re: Early upgrade fees

So what is the justification for the fee? Greed.

This policy vodafone has makes no sense. Their excuse of an early upgrade fee is feebile and just exploiting those unwilling to wait. They try to make out its because your upgrading early but in every case it is a better deal for vodafone without even taking the extra "greed" fee.

If you have 6 months left, and take out a new 18 month contract, you pay the 18 month line rental, for 24 months. However to compare with the new customer, they can pay £5 less a month if they take a 24 month contract.

The only benefit you get is you get the phone earlier. You still pay the same amount as a new customer. However if you go up a tariff, eg. you had 6 months left of you 18 month contract at £31 a month, but then decide to take a new £35 a month contract for 18 months, you actually end up paying the £36 for the 6 months remaining as well as the 18 months you would normally.

Re: Early upgrade fees

I was contacted twice yesterday once during the day I was at work and asked if I field be called back after 6pm. I got a voicemail at 6.20 despite my phone never ringing, requesting a text back confirming a good time to call which I replied 6.25. Surprise surprise no call back!! VODAFONE I'm not a happy customer please do something about this. I want to get my 6 month early upgrade and I want it soon and for free please and for less than £39 per month for 16gb iPhone 4 or else I will leave at the end of my current contract. It's not an unreasonable request as you will still get your money from me every month if you make me happy!!

Re: Early upgrade fees

I was hoping to upgrade early to an iPhone 4S tomorrow but I've now found out about this early upgrade fee, which seems completely ridiculous given how long I've been a customer for! Could somebody point me at any way of getting around paying such a 'valued customer' fee??

Re: Early upgrade fees

Can a moderator please help sort this out. I dealt with amanda previously but have still not actually got anywhere! But what is the justification for the early upgrade fee?? I was contacted with regard to offering me a better deal for an iphone 4 16gb upgrade without the fee and for less than £40 a month, i emailed my account details and was called twice at inappropriate times and so texted back the best time to be contacted and have since not heard a thing!!! I now unless given a very good deal will be leaving at the end of my contract, which unfortunately is 6 months away!!! If you wish to give me a ring an by chance offer me a 16gb black iphone 4 with 600 mins, unlimited text and 750mb (2gb wifi) internet for £36 per month or maybe a 32gb iphone 4 with 600 mins, unlimited text and 750 mb (2gb wifi) for £40 per month (cheeky I know, but if you wanna keep me!!!) then I might consider staying!! Please Please don't ignore me anymore. 9 years of custom and your loss will be O2's gain!!

Re: Early upgrade fees

I'm in a similar boat..  Vodafone have an ok offer which is a white iphone 4S at £31/month on a 24 month contract 500MB and the phone is £169, but only for new customers.  When upgrading I'm only getting the more expensive 18 months contract plus their £55 fee and can't see to get around that, I don't think I'm asking anything too unreasonable I just want the £31/month longer option and to waiver that early upgrade fee.  I'm going to get one this week from somewhere as my current HTC is on it's last legs.  I can see the kind of deals I'm interested in with a few places, can someone at Vodafone help me out please?

Re: Early upgrade fees

Gordonbennet if you hold out long enough and keep posting on here someone will contact you and try and get you the best deal suited to you and what you want, I have just this minute come off the phone to Paul from the web relations team, who called me back as I had requested, and he has just given me the deal as near to what I wanted. I got a free 16gb iphone 4 (can't afford a 4s) in black with 900 mins, unltd texts, unltd web for 3 months(750mb after) with 2gb free wifi on a 24 month contract for £41 a month(I only wanted to pay £40, but hey it's close enough) and NO upgrade fee!!! Web relations do not charge upgrade fees, but may need a contribution towards the phone dependant on contract cost!

Re: Early upgrade fees

Hi,

Can someone confirm if the early upgrade fee is still £55. Im due the upgrade tomorrow, but if this is the case, i will just go to p4u and get a new deal out with them, and they can sort out my contract too, all for FREE :smileyvery-happy:

If the case is, £55, is this paid upfront or on next bill? I Dont want to move networks, i used to work in the porting call centre and i know what a pain all of it can be, and would rather stay with VF.

Thanks.
