End contract early and move number?

Hi,

I currently have a contact with Voda on a HTC desire which ends beginning of July, however I have recently pre-ordered the galaxy S3 with carphone warehouse (again on voda) which should begin at the end of this month. I would like to know if its possible to either pay off my remaining contract and take my current number to use on my new handset from CW or add on the remaining months of my current contact to the new one (as it is still with voda) along with my current number.

Would appreciate any advice on this, or any other options I have so that I will not have 2 contracts at the same time. Thanks

Stephen

I don't believe you will be able to amalgamate the two contracts. Although they are both using the Vodafone network you are contracted to two different organisations and they cannot be joined.

I think you will need to ask Vodafone for a PAC number and then give that to CPW so they can transfer your number to their contract.

Re: End contract early and move number?

Hello sfearon

You wont need a PAC code unless you are going to take your number to an alternative network as a temporary measure.

If you are getting the new Galaxy from Carphone as an upgrade which your would be eligible for, if there were any days left on your current contract, you would be able to add the time left onto your new contract.

If you are taking a new contract from Carphone, cancel your present contract which will require 30 days notice and ask Vodafone to transfer your number to PAYG as a temporary measure, you then transfer your PAYG to your new contract by emailing www.vodafone.co.uk/keepmynumber or by contacting the Porting Team on 08080 945 945, Option 3.

You will be able to find how to cancel your contract on support under termination.
