Further poor advice from Vodafone.

Posted from Facebook
So things are going from bad to worse with Vodafone. I shall post my original messages at the bottom so you can see the troubles I've been having. But for now let me tell you about today. So after batting with you over your upgrades policy and the upgrade I "SHOULD" be due we were told by a member of staff on the phone that the handset we wanted Samsung Galaxy Note) was not in stock so the best thing we could do is check our local store to see if they have any. So today we make the 30 minute trip to our local shop to see if we can FINALLY resolve the problem. So we get there and ask about the handset only to be told the handset is an online exclusive so is NOT available in the stores. What the hell is going on when you're not only passing customers from pillar to post when on the phone but also telling them to go travelling to stores unnecessarily because you obviously can't be bothered to deal with it yourselves. I know what will come next, a reply from someone saying "Have you tried speaking to someone in X team" and guiding me to yet another person to speak to. Why should I have to keep making such effort to then receive shockingly poor customer service and again hang up the phone after wasting 30 minutes of my time being passed from pillar to post and no further forward. My original post from last week is below: Let me explain our situation again (for probably the 4th maybe 5th time) We took out a contract 18 months ago and were told by the salesman we would be able to upgrade early. Your website had always told us we could upgrade on 31st March. Then when I checked back it said it would be July, Then it changed yet again to August. My wife phoned and spoke to you and was informed we would have to pay either £150 to upgrade or £186 to buy out of the contract. After a bit of thinking we decided we would stay with you and upgrade (providing we can get the handset we want for free, A Samsung Galaxy Note). So... We phone you today, and after 25 minutes on the phone being passed to several people we were merely told the handset we would like is not in stock and you don't know when it will be back in stock, and, we should phone our local stores to locate a handset. There was no offer to find out when it will be back in stock, no offer to locate a handset and generally no real customer service. Are Vodafone not interested in keeping customers?

Thank you for your response. I've responded using the contact form. I can only hope someone with some common sense and some knowledge of our situation gets in contact as we are on the brink of going elsewhere and the only way to stop us doing so is to get this resolved as soon as possible,

Below is the email we got today. What sort of business are you lot running?? Thank you for contacting Vodafone Customer Services in regard to the upgrade. I have checked your upgrade date for the number ending in 904 and can confirm that you can upgrade by 17 August 2012 via Call / Retail Stores / Indirect / Vodafone.co.uk. I am sorry to say that you cannot upgrade before 17 August 2012. I trust the above information is helpful. Kind regards, George (surname removed for security) Vodafone Customer Services

Re: Further poor advice from Vodafone.

Hi AndrewJohnson,

Many thanks for your post.

Did you include MMM135 in the subject line of the email? That ensures that it routes through to our team.

I’ve sent you another private message with our contact details. If you do want us to look at a possible deal for you, just respond to that.

You can find your PM Inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

We are a small team and are very popular at the moment, so don’t be surprised if it takes a couple of days for us to respond after you’ve emailed.

Let me take this opportunity to show you how Vodafone like to say thank you; take a look at VIP.

Cheers

Ian
