Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

[ Edited ]

i seen the following deal from dialaphone website:

-400 mins

-unlimited texts

-500mb data

-free handet

-5 months free cashback

£31 a month; £24.54 after cashback

1) does this deal sound legit? does prices include vat?

2) i rang 3 to get a PAC code and they said vodafone dont do that deal themselves so it isnt legit?

any help?

Re: Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

Dialaphone is company that has existed for many years, and does deals over various networks.

I think the statement from 3 is a bit worrying (for their legal department)

The main issue is to do your research, some don't have a returns period e.g if you simply don't like a phone there is no legal obligation to take it back, Vodafone offers 7 days.  Some also have their own repairs policies etc

Re: Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

thanks for your reply. I just now rang vodafone aswell and the advisor said he didnt know how they could offer the handset for free as part of the deal. All in all i need opinions of how safe it would be to order from dialaphone? or am I best off waiting a couple of weeks?

cheers

Dialaphone will be sourcing either direct from Samsung or from the grey import market, they will probably be seeing a significant bulk discount

depending on how their contract with voda works they have either bought a large block of contracts from voda at a significant discount or will have an arangement for a significant kick back from voda for each contract sold

As they are entirely web and telephone based they don't have the overheads of voda or the high street retailers so their cost base is lower and they can pass on some of these savings to the customer

Note I do not work for voda, My advice comes from experience and my opinions are my own

Re: Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

Dialaphone have never been completely web/phone based - They used to have shops on the high street.

They are now part of the Phones 4 you group, who when they acquired Dialaphone closed down a number of there retails shops whilst keeping others

I've never dealt with Dialaphone and I've just looked at their website for the first time and had a good look through their terms and conditions and VAT is not mentioned anywhere. I would assume that the prices do include VAT but it might be worth checking with Dialaphone directly. There are a few threads complaining about the the lack of clarity on the Dialaphone website on the internet generally.

Re: Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

I have used dailaphone and never had a problem, infact my currant contract was originally through them but now I just deal through Vodaphone. In my experience prices did include vat but is best to double check if you decide to use them, regarding the monthly price you gain money back usually every 6 months by redemption. So you pay £31 a month then on month 6/12/18 and 24 you send off your bills and they refund you. Quite a bit of messing around but worth it in the end.

Re: Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

Cashback deals like that rely on customers forgetting to claim their cashback amounts by submitting requests. This is known as breakage and is factored into their profit calculations.

if you go for a cashback deal that entails claiming the cash back periodically make sure you do.

Re: Galaxy S3 deal on dialaphone

Hi Guys,

Dialaphone are a legit company who do sell contracts on our behalf as well as other networks in theUK.

Their pricing can be different from ours however, when it comes to the handset and the cash back offers we would have no jurisdiction with these queries.

Any faulty phone’s would need to go through them directly and any queries regarding cash back would also need to go through them directly.

Before ordering I would advise you to check the terms and conditions thoroughly to see what happens if you miss one of the cash back claims as it has been known to stop any further cash back claims as is classed as a break in the deal by the customer.

@ j_blaze, if you would like us to see what deal we can do for you please follow the details on the PM that I have sent to you and one of the team will be able to give you a call.

You can find your PM inbox here.

In the meantime I would also look at the amount of minutes that you get with the above deal as although the deal looks tempting if you don’t have enough minutes then changing the price plan to increase the minutes would void any cash back claims.

James
