Getting told different things by phone? Trying to upgrade early!

Hi, phoned vodaphone a few days ago trying to upgrade early as my current phone has broken and i'm after the new htc one x. The woman said i can't till the 9th of june unless i buyout my contract which will cost just a bit less than my remaining three months, i agreed but as the htc wasn't available for pre-order i said ill call back in a few days. I did so and the new woman said you can't do that and i can either wait out the remaining time or cancle my contract which costs around the 85 mark.

Whos right and what can i actually do? Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Getting told different things by phone? Trying to upgrade early!

You can take an early upgrade from 50 days before your contact expires (I guess this is the 9 june date)

You can buy out your remaining contract, cost is no months remaining * monthly fee, not inc VAT and with a 2% rebate

You haven't said what is up with your current phone, if it's a hardware or software defect then you can have it reapaired for free by HTC under the manufacturers warenty. If it's water or physical damage then you can look to claim on any gadget or household contents insurance you may have

You can always buy a sim free or PAYG phone to see you through the next few months

Finally you can wait 24-48 hrs for a mod to PM you (it's a weekend) and beg for an early upgrade, tho recemtly these seem to be limited to very high value customers

Note I do not work for voda, My advice comes from experience and my opinions are my own
