An update on my last post:
No Phone call yesterday evening as promised
No consignment number texted as promised
This morning a further 'your order as been delyaed' text
followed 23 minutes later by
Your order has been dispatched ready on Monday text
Broken promises, poor customer service, and complete disregard for the fact that for two days I have now arranged my working day to pick up a phone from VF that they have told me will be available and it wasn't - what about my inconvience? what about the fact that my boss thinks i'm losing the plot? Why didnt I just do what my wife and daughter said - just get a new phone from Orange!
2 jokes to end on - "Vodafone: A network to depend on" and heard on the radio today the 5 telecons (including vodafone): Customer satisfaction is a priority - I suppose though inthe end the joke is on me and on all of us!!!!

It gets better - new text just received your parcel is due for delivery today between 09.30 and 10.30 - yes i know but you have told me it isn't being delivered today and that it is coming Monday !!!!! (Not that currently I'd believe you if you told me today was Friday!

Thanks for for speaking to me - I'm not sure I would agree with your assessment that 'we covered as many options as possible to get this sorted." because even though I was told that the phone would now be delivered on Monday, (you'll recall that I couldn't get it today because it wasn't showing on the DPD website and therefore couldn't be delivered) I popped into the Merry Hill Store on my way home as I had to go there to pick up other items (planned to coincide with picking up the phone) and guess what????? Yep - it was there!
I was slightly embarrassed as the conversation with the shop started with me saying "could you check that you don't have my phone" but pleased when he came back with it - It arrived this morning like the DPD text had told me it would - even after the vodafone text saying I wouldn't get it today and before the next vodafone text saying I would get it on Monday!!!
Whilst (allowing for the day late) it all worked out for me - and I got a good deal in the end - but really you must agree with me that Vodafone's systems need a really good overhaul - because frankly the left hand doesn't seem to to know what the right hand is doing.
Anyway all sorted now so there is no need for me to be mean spirited - thanks to all the eforum staff who tried to help - it must be so frustrating working for VF.
For now at least you have one happyvfone!

The point I was trying to make (and by your reply presumably failing) was that, as the phone was available to be collected on Friday - there must have been something that could have been done to let me know that. This isn't a critiscm of the staff on the e-forum I have spoken to (including you) as I have found them all to be very very helpful - but (and surely you must agree with me) the fact that Vodafone's systems seem so woeful means that VF staff have very little chance of keeping customers happy by telling them what is actually going to happen - I'm a case in point: If I had been told Monday and then I collected the phone on Monday - no problem, if I had been told the Friday and then collected Friday again no problem - but I was told Thursday and it didnt happen, I was told Friday and then told it would happen (but in fact it did), I was told Monday, but given it was sorted Friday it wont happen! - You see my point? (BTW the DPD tracking system is now showing the parcel is at the depot and ready for delivery - so presumably a further Bold may be delivered on Monday!
My daughter does though love it - so much so that she has had it a week before her birthday as she did not wish to hand it back after it was all set up!
