Hope everyone is having a better day than me. Here's my problem:
I came home from work on Thursday afternoon and sat down with a cup of tea. My iPhone was in my shirt pocket. I reached over to grab my laptop and my phone fell straight out of my pocket and into my cuppa. Damn, I was enjoying that tea...Of course I can't drink it now  . Back to my problem. Anyway not only was the cup of tea wasted but also my handset
The handset was bought from the states as a handset only and I brought it home, unlocked it and used it on Voda. Perfect.
I have contacted my insurance company so that they can take care of fixing it or replacing it. They are now asking for proof of purchase. I have searched through every single piece of paper in my house and cannot find it anywhere. Believe me...It is not in this house, I have gone through it with a fine toothcomb. So I contact the insurance and tell them I am not able to locate the receipt and was there any other was I can prove that it is mine. They said yes, you can contact your airtime provider who will check through your calls and see what IMEI was being broadcast. Proof of usage of a period of time will be enough for the insurance company.
Great!!! I thought
I need to be able to get this confirmation quicker than 10 days.
Anyone got any ideas?
Please help me, I'm at my wits-end. Claiming from insurance is stressful enough without my phone company making it even more difficult.

Great!!! I thought. I contact Vodafone customer services on 191 and explained what I needed. So now I have been asked to write a letter to an address in Banbury requesting this information. Customer Services say that this will take around 10 days. I simply cannot wait that long. I travel a lot with work and need to have my phone. Insurance company says that the claim will be settled within 48 hours of receiving proof of usage.
I need to be able to get this confirmation quicker than 10 days.
Anyone got any ideas?

The MODS on here are a very useful bunch and if they can help I am sure they will.
They do work on a 1st come 1st served basis though. So be patient and they will be along.
My spirit might me strong buuut......

For information, I contacted the insurance company back and they have said that normally this kind of information is easily accessible by an airtime provider so I really can't understand why when I call 191 and I have to go through the normal security checks that they just can't provide me with the information that I need.
Don't get me wrong, this is NOT a vodafone problem, it's my problem but I still can't understand why this kind of thing would take so long.
Thanks for your reply though
Michael
