A colleague was recently talking about receiving a 20% military discount on his contract and this can also be applied to family members. Is this just on new contracts or can this be applied retrospectively? How do I apply for it? I've 4 contracts, 3 phones and mobile broadband, so this could represent a significant saving.

Thanks for your post here.

I’m sorry to say that I’m afraid we do not offer any discounts for military personnel. I’m not sure where your friend has got this information from. We do offer contract ‘breaks’ for those serving in different countries, that can then be picked back up again when they return, continuing from the point of the term that they left.

We got a handout at our work explaining the same, however it was due to the Army joining the employee advantage scheme apparntly. It also went on to say that it was only on new contracts and not existing ones

Thanks for your post. I can confirm that the British Army is eligible to apply for discount under the Employee Advantage scheme. However,  the discount does need to be applied for within 30 days of your upgrade or connection date, so if you're in an existing agreement that has been taken more than 30 days ago you'll be unable to apply for the discount this time around.

You have been given duff information from Vodafone.  They do have military discount at:

but you have to use it within 30 days of renewing ar setting up a contract.
