Mobile Internet - Over FUP limit charges are coming ... !

I'm going to ask them to send a comparison to my prevous 3 months bills so I can calculate that the reduction of line rental is correct, I'm also asking for a cover letter confirming that this is indeed my final bill and I want it sent a different address to my previous correspondance.

Oh... and I won't accept electronic billing.

that sounds like a good plan however i would make a few more requests 1. the bill is hand written on parchment paper 2. it is then delivered by carrier pigeon or failing that hand delivered by the elusive karen from the directors office with a apology on behalf of vodafone for the shambles

You won't have a choice about accepting electronic billing - your Vodafone online billing account gets deactivated the moment your number is ported away from Vodafone...

....so despite being unable to view your final bill online, Vodafone still expect you to pay it via Direct Debit.

When I get confirmation of my cancellation, I will pay my current bill by Direct Debit and then cancel the DD agreement via my bank. Vodafone will have to send me a paper copy of the bill before I will even consider paying it.

For most companies, I would be surprised that they would expect you to pay a bill without being able to view it. Unfortunately, there is very little that Vodafone can surprise me about nowadays!

This is something I have some concern about.

When my line with voda gets disconnceted, will they still be able to pull up my records afterwards to show account notes and what haveyous? I'm sure no one here is surprised that I just don't have the confidence in Vodafone anymore to play fair... Although all has been said and done, I still forsee a early termination bill debiting from my account when the line is disconnected, which I'm going to have to prove again to some negligent CS rep that they've made a mistake!

I have proof of emails and text but I would rather they just acted accordingly, instead of referring me to a store to have it refunded...which is what I was told from a CS rep a couple weeks ago when I queried it.

I now have my bill online for September and my data usage is 2.99gb.
The impending charges would give me a 60% increase on my previous month's bill!!!
I was originally told that I would have to wait for this bill before I could cancel as the new charges would affect me.

So Vodafone, there is my latest bill, I would like my account cancelled with no ETF and my PAC code to be released to me asap.

(Disclaimer, I am not expecting any reply from them in any shape or form as they appear to be word blind to anything involving - cancellation and PAC or impending charges)

I was told the same thing, emailed them on the 14th after said bill had been generated (and after I'd had a "near the end of my allowance! text) and have heard nothing since!

i,m afraid to say it appears this latest move by vodafone as well and truely backfired on them with the amount of people wanting to cancel, they only have themselves to blame. they expected users to just sit back n take in the recent changes and do nothing, well one wonders how much of a backlash this latest in a long run of changes this past year will end up costing them in terminations.

I have confirmation in the form of an email and text from CS rep, quoting her managers name and that he has agreed to cancel my contract waiving ETF. I've gone with the iPhone4.

Emailed the directors office - they said to ring 191.

191 lady said they sent a letter on the 8th of September which I need to take to a vodafone store to cancel with no penalty. Haven't received such letter, 191 lady just put me on hold to look into it. 35 mins on hold, call disconnects...

This company is a joke...

Who knows! Now on the phone to a very nice northern Irish lass who is trying her best to figure out whats going on. She has no record of the aforementioned letter being sent!...Said to ring back on Monday because "someone is looking into it"

A communication company what can't communicate and is avoiding paying its tax to HMRC (google bitter wallet...) - What a joke!

i had customer relations phone me about 30 mins ago - to summarize he said the majority of people will be notified on 1st Oct the outcome of their request (with the most likely outcome being cancelled without ETF). I asked why he couldnt just cancel now and he said the legal team are looking into the whole Out of Bundle charging situation so theres not much he could do.
i couldnt be bothered to kick off and i think il just be patient for once and wait til 1st oct.

This is good news if true....I've just finished a call to a CSA where she tried every trick in the book to tell me I would have to pay an ETF despite the fact that all I comply with all the circumstances & proofs etc required. In the end she, perhaps unbelieveably, used the phrase I would have to 'see them in court'

I have already sent them a letter and received a response indicating they'll let me know so hopefully that will pan out as you suggest.

On the plus side, hopefully this'll cheer you up, I am a director of a company that spends probably half a million pounds with Vodafone annually and I will make it my business (or should that be personal vendetta) to ensure that one day, whatever the facts, I cost Vodafone a very large sum of money indeed. Bet their beancounters didn't put that sort of thing in their business case

That DOES cheer me up! I've encouraged my IT director to shop around for our renewal - looks like Voda are out of the running so we're moving around 60 numbers Not sure what the cost is but it is still very gratifying to have more effect than as a insignificant (at least to Vodafone) individual.

Trying to work out a way of starting an 'buyers advice' thread on LinkedIn too, that could be more effective than Facebook and twitter ....

Good idea. I've been thinking a crucial point that Vodafone seems to have missed here, is that whilst they quote that this only affects 3% of customers - (even if that were true) - those 3% are very likely to be, almost by definition, not only the most tech & web savvy consumers in the market but also very likely contains a significant, possibly disproportionate, number of decision makers and influencers.

Their ability to cause VF pain outside of the scope of the issue at hand is why if they've any sense they'll rescue what little goodwill remains.

I used to contract for VF Group and am frantically lobbying my friends there - that someone in charge needs to take control of this because the VFUK bean-counters have got their sums wrong, and it appears the lunatics are running the asylum or at least manning the phones...

But then, ask anyone in VF Group about VFUK and they'll probably tell you the abbreviation is appropriate

This wouldn't effect you as all plans are now sold as hard limits, no FUPs.

I do feel the only way Vodafone can come out of this with any respect left is for them to honer the original unlimited bundles. Then when customers come to the end of their contracts they can decide what to do (a bit like O2). I do feel their is a solution to this which whilst you may not agree with me it does make sense.
Vodafone have always stated there was a 500MB FUP on their plans. So a customer reaches 500mb and gets a warning text if you carry with you use we will cap your speeds. Customer then reaches say 800mb their speeds get capped to 2G speeds they are not charged and still getting unlimited internet but at a reduced speed. If they then want full speed returned they then have to pay extra. It would have allowed customers to still use the phones and to protect the network. But Vodafone been Vodafone all they wanted was £££££££££££££.
