According to this thread: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Latest-Vodafone-New
There was a break last night. I've had no data and everytime I tried to make a call had around 1 in 10 calls connect since Friday 8pm in the SL1 area. Anyone else had the same?

Has it been confirmed the root cause of the problem is vandals broke into a Vodafone facilities? What did they do? steal the Gerbil on the treadmill?
My company are in the process of renegotiating contracts with Vodafone, this should be the final nail in the Vodafone coffin.

I'm a pay monthly customer, are we entitled to a discount off our bill because of this disruption to service?

No signal in the City of London still. Seems remarkable that Voda are stating that only several hundred thousand are impacted.

Seems very convenient that it was down to an outside force and not Vodafone themselves.
As I said before my signal in SL1 has been up and down since Friday evening. More down than up. Tried my sim in 2 different phones, no joy still.
Here's my last sync from exchange and I was very lucky to get.
May be coincidence that my sim fried or something but I think Vodafone are not telling us everything

Hi - we have 3 Vodafone phones in the household and the network went down Saturday lunchtime for us in Watford (WD25) - I spent 3 hours on the phone to customer service on Sunday and they told me the 3G network was down and to change to gsm only - we did this and have had service since then. But - the guy said he couldn't report the 3G outage as he needed more proof it was down - the network in our area has been going down more and more frequently lately - Vodafone used to have good coverage, now it appears to be one of the worst and we've been with Vodafone for over 20 years now - am definitely going to change to another provider.

Hi Daxsmum,
Can you provide us with the full postcode of the area you are having issues in, so I can take a closer look. Once I have this I will get you an update on the situation.
It will also be worth keeping an eye on the faults board for the latest information

I believe this "Technical Centre" was one of the main hubs serving a significant portion of the UK and some of Europe which could have affected several million customers. The "Technical Site" I believe was situated on a farm in close proximity to one of the small outlying villages north of Basingstoke Yesterday the narrow country lane was closed off by police and today there is still a heavy police presence. This is an area notorious for our travelling friends although they would normally only go for the copper wiring, from the industry whispers a significant amount of other equipment must also have been removed otherwise this site would have failed over to its resilient partner site. This tends to suggest a somewhat more concerted effort than just a few bits of copper wire being stolen.
I think its about time Vodafone came clean and gave us all the real story, most of us understand that this happens from time to time, in this case its hit at the heart of the Vodafone network, but the least its customers deserve is to be told what is going on.
Come on Vodafone.....be honest and we can stop bugging you and allow you to get on with fixing the issue......

Hi Everyone
Just to clarify the effect on disruption of services, it has not impacted the entire network (or millions of customers) as has been suggested. In total, this impacted 3.2% of our customer base primarily in the M4/M3 corridor areas (Vodafone currently has approx 19 million customers in the UK), although for those affected the disruption lasted several hours and we can confirm that all services have now been restored. You can find the latest update here.
Many Thanks

Hi there jimlatham,
I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing problems in the WN5 area.
The site that serves your profile postcode is referenced 10602. There is an open case for this site referenced 2235113. It is only a child case though, which means this site feeds of another site.
The parent site is referenced 12241 and the fault reference is 2234753. The site itself has been broken into and parts have been stolen from the site. If 12241 feeds 10602 then there's a type of domino effect going on, like a chain reaction. There is a further site affected by this case. It's referenced 00451.
Until we're able to replace the stolen materials then we're unable to provide any further information.
I can see a delivery of part is expected for 9am on 10/06/11. I'm very confident this will be resolved very soon.
We also have a Faults Board for your reference in future where you can check for any known issues ![]()
Cheers,
Lee
