Both myself and my mother are customers of Vodafone...and for the past 2 days, we both havent been able to call out on our phones.
Mine lets u dial..and then comes up saying "call failed" my mothers, says something about "congestion"...however it leaves a missed call on the recipients phone, although not actually connecting.
Ive looked on the site...no issues with network according to your website, and all coverage is fine, but obviously not when not being able to call out.
The rest of the functions, email, notifications, BBm Messages etc all work fine...just no ability to call out.
Rang the customer services number, they just told me to go to options...and change the network coverage to 2G, which is rather annoying as im paying for a 3G signal...and as mentioned it seems to work for all other aspects of communication, just not calls...
Anybody know of issues with signal at the moment in the Warrington Area... (Postcode WA2 0HS)
Thanks and apologies if not in the right section

Has the issue been with the phones no matter where you are, on just in one location, moving to 2G is interesting just to rule it out, but can be changed back, did that have an effect ?
For it to have happened to 2 phones rules out a handset, so either a site or network issue, are the 2 phones on the same account ? Maybe worth double checking that there have been no restrictions / bars put on your account - there is an outgoing bar I believe so it sounds a bit like that but not I guess if a missed call was shown on the recipients phone
I would also try simply switching the phones off etc if this has not been tried, and also refreshing them on the network by trying to connect to another network provider and then back to Vodafone (instructions within the forum for this).

Bertyb- Im currently recovering from an operation so ive not been out and about, however as far as im aware, my mothers hasnt been working when she has been out in other areas.
Moving to 2G strangely worked to make outbound calls, but i dont understand it when my phone has the 3G signal,...and the Internet works perfectly well in it in the same area where i cant make calls with a 3G signal.
The amount of issues ive had with Voda recently, id dread to think what id do if they had blocked my account, however both numbers are on seperate accounts, plus sms service works, so doubt that would be the case.
Both phones have been turned off and on, and also battery pulls (both blackberry's)

My apologies for the delay in responding to you however; I would like to thank you for your patience and for the information that you have provided after the assistance of bertyb and flyfifer.
I have taken a look at the postcode area for you and can see that you are only 600 feet away from you local 3G site and as such you should have excellent 3G coverage and service.
From what you have said it does sound like it is definitely an issue connecting to the local3G mast that is causing the issue.
I have taken a look at the local mast (73472) and from what I can see everything is running fine and accepting traffic as normal.
Although the issue is affecting multiple SIM’s it is possible that the issue could be with your SIM.
To rule this out can you let me know how long you have had your SIM for?
If you can give this a go and let me know how you get on.

Other than telling me the Sim could be at fault, which it cant be due to the fact It works when I put it ONLY to 2G signal, and it works away from the house, doesnt seem very Urgent to you guys.
whats the point on me paying for a contract, and 900minutes when i cannot use them

Thanks for your post about being unable to make calls on 3G.
I see you say you can make calls if you're on 2G, which to me suggests you'll be able to take advantage of the minutes in your plan.
I can see you should actually be connecting to site 45318 which is out towards Haughton Green. I can see there are three cells on the site and the one that serves your postcode is transmitting no data so I can't tell whether it's working or not. I've had a look for any logs from engineers and there's nothing open at the moment.
I'll pop an email over to a colleague and will update you when I have any further information.

I filled in a template, to which another guy from warrington has also got the same issue, my GF also had the issue from my postcode (also on voda) and a friend of hers has got signal issues with voda at a different Postcode.

I too live in this area WA2 0JB and have had this issue for the last 3 weeks first it was no calls out and then today it is both incoming and outgoing calls !!!! so many hard resets phone swaps etc that it is beyond a joke when rang today was on the landline to voda for 1 hour and was told there were no issues in my area at 3.00pm I went to pick up my son from school roughly 3/4 of a mile away and hey presto phone works again, back home no and same problem can get 3G data just no voice or video calls(can also send and recieve texts) have a full signal etc.
My main gripe is that also on these boards is a thread saying the mast is down http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Faults-Board/SITE-7
Very Very unhappy after 9 years with Vodafone the time I have spent on this issue is beyond a joke and has damages my business.

But 2 weeks without being able to ring out Voda, Completely unacceptable, as noted, coupled with the Blackberry RIM/BIS service issues aswell, already looking at contracts with other providers

so 3 weeks without service, and just a message to say is it working (Which it is now) is acceptable, i dont find it acceptable that ive been without my ability to use my minutes that i pay for to be totally honest with you
