Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

When i took out the second contract on my Voda account, i was told they would give me free 08 numbers on my original account, which i had for about two months, but suddenly i'm being charged for this.

February - free

March - £6.44

April - £4.17

May - £4.17

I don't understand why i'm being charged for this, and why it was £6.44 in March!

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

Hi payney,

Unfortunatly as this is account specific, one of the Vodafone Team will have to look into this one for you. They work on a first come first serve basis so sit tight they get in contact as soon as they can

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

Either your being charge by mistake, or they built it in to your package for the same price you were paying before.

£4.17 would be £5 without vat which is the price for this.

Possibly if you upgraded when this was arranged you would pay a slightly longer period on your bill (6 weeks) as your billing date may be updated, resulting in a £6 bill for the first "month" this would be shown on your bill if you look at the billing dates.

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

the 08 service only covers 0800, 0845 and 0870 numbers.

Aany other 08 service i.e 0877 would be chargable. this has alsways been the case, so my guess is that the charges will be correct.

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

Bump

Is anyone from the Vodafone team actually going to get in touch?

One thing i failed to mention, was that i've not used this service, but as they were giving it to me FOC, i thought why not.  I've not even used the facility either.

Thanks to all who have replied so far :manhappy:

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

Hi payney1, aplogies for the delay in responding - we're a small team and very popular at the moment!

The information provided already is spot on - it could be that the charges are for line rental or for calls to numbers not covered by the bundle :smileywink:

If you've been given the bundle for free then you shouldn't be seeing a charge so we'll need to take a look at your account and see what's going on.

I've sent you a PM, follow the instructions on contacting us and one of the team will be in touch to help as soon as they can.

You can find your PM inbox here

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

Ok so who, apart from myself, would like to hit the vodafone customer services team on the head with timmy mallets mallet (can't believe i'm actually old enough to remember that lol).

Why oh why can't people read simple instructions!!

When i filled in the form asking Voda customer services team to contact me, i put on it that i would like an afternoon call because i was due to go on to nights.

Low and behold i came down to my phone this afternoon (thankfully my phone was down stairs or it would be more than timmys mallet that's for sure) and there was a missed call from 10.15am and as for the voicemail message, i couldn't even understand a word she said, it sounded like she was phoning me from outside on her mobile running in to the wind.

Is it really not too much to ask to be contacted in the afternoon?

So, if you would like to contact me again tomorrow, then please do so in the afternoon.

Don't even try and contact me on Thursday (31st), i'm heavily involved in the Olympic Torch Relay for that day.

Hi payne1,

I can see that we have your details in our email system and have arranged for one of our team to call you later this afternoon to discuss your issue in more detail with you directly.

Re: Overcharged because of 08 numbers.

Firstly, thank you to the three people who have been in touch about this over the last few days - though i can't believe it has taken calls and emails from three different people to try and resolve this issue.

I must actually ask in a different section of the forum why my phone never rang the other day, but that's another issue i'll ask in a different section of the dorum.

I missed a call from Lee, but he has sent me an email advising that the package has been cancelled.

I'm still not happy that this issue has been resolved completely, i was checking through my emails and i have a confirmation email from 17/02/12 telling me that i would be paying £36 month - there's no mention of the 08 package on this email though, don't know why when that is a confirmation email after you have chosen and confirmed your package.

And it was free in February which is when i renewed my contract, why was i not charged for February then?

I just can't help but feel quite annoyed at this :manmad:
