Pay Off Contract or Early Upgrade?

Hi,

I'm wanting to know how much it would be if I was to pay off my contract? I believe it's due to end in June but I don't know the exact date within that month, if I'm even thinking of the right month in the first place! I'm wanting to pay off my contract because in all honesty I absolutely hate this BlackBerry! It's forever crashing and just causing me problems and all-in-all I don't rate it as a phone at all. I'm looking to get a Samsung Galaxy S2, and if an early upgrade was an option I want some more information about that too please? As I signed into my account which told me I could upgrade from 12th March, then signed in again the next day and got 21st April... not sure how it could change by over a month overnight?!

Many thanks,

Laura

Re: Pay Off Contract or Early Upgrade?

Hi Laura,

You can pay off your contract, the amount you pay would be your remaining months line rental minus 20% VAT

In terms of the upgrade dates there is a statement here regarding the changes.

As you are nearing your early upgrade date(the first one) and you have a faulty handset it may be possible to upgrade now and add the remaining months onto a new contract. Best thing to do is contact the @vodafoneukdeals twitter team. They specialise in upgrades so are the best people to get this one sorted! For info on how to contact them head over here and follow the instructions. They are a small and very popular team so they may not reply straight away, stick around though as one of the team will get back to you as soon as they can.

You cant just pay off part of the contract to bring to to your early termination date, you pay off the entire contract which leaves you free to negotiate a new contract with a new phone.

You may find it cheaper to just purchase the new phone paying the full cost, carry on using the present contract and change to a SIM only deal when it expires and save money that way.

Re: Pay Off Contract or Early Upgrade?

I called 191 last week an they said if I payed £112 then the upgrade would be brought forward to this month, I didn't have the funds then, my bill is due in a couple of days and my brother said he would pay the £90 from his account, can I pay the £90 online?
Thanks

Re: Pay Off Contract or Early Upgrade?

Hi Alainartois,

You can only pay the amount due on the invoice online, although we'd generally recommend using Direct Debit for this to avoid any payment processing charges.

We'll be happy to take a look at this and see what we can arrange for you if this has been discussed previously, so I'll pop you a PM

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Dave

If I've helped at all today, why not leave me a little feedback?

Re: Pay Off Contract or Early Upgrade?

Hi Alainartois,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Providing the correct information (reference numbers etc) have been used, this can take just a few days.

If however there is anything incorrect or missing it may take a little longer to locate the account and reduce the balance.

Cheers,

Jenny
