Hi everyone,

Had a call last night from 'Vodafone' offering me an early upgrade due to having a BB Storm as they had, had lots of problems with them. Was a bit dubious so called customer services who said I couldnt upgrade until later in the year and they had heard nothing of it?

Has anyone else had a call like this, or can someone from Voda confirm or deny this upgrade?

I just didnt want to go through everything then get told I cant upgrade or end up with an extra line I no longer need.

Hi Mark,

I am in the same situation.  I received a phone call yesterday offering me an early upgrade because the handset I have, a samsung H1 did not perform as well as what they had hoped.  I would love to upgrade early but did not want to agree to any upgrade over the phone without checking out any other deals first.  I ,like you, phoned customer services to confirm the authenticity of the call and they had nothing on file about the call that I had received. The number that phoned me was 08080600832.  She agreed to phone me back next week after I had looked at the phones she was offering.

Hi David,

Yes it was that same number, they mentioned also about the Samsung. I have phoned back today and requested a call back but it concerns me that C/S know nothing about it.

I spoke to someone at customer services this morning who said she thinks they will try to sell me another line which is not what I want.

As soon as I hear from them I will let you know.

Ok, Iv not had a phonecall so dont know what you're talking about.

However the fact that Vodafone CS don't seem to know anything about it, wouldnt worry me as the dont seem to know anything in that place. Communication seems to be non existant.

Im desperate for an upgrade so if it was me id have my fingers firmly crossed that it was genuine

I've kust spoken to them again it all seems genuine but theres a part of me that is saying dont do it

Thanks for your post, if I've not already been beaten to it, a massive welcome from all of us here at the eFroum!

I've just called the number and it does say that it's a courtesy call from Vodafone so I would be inclined to say that it's genuine.

If you're not happy to give your details to someone on a 'cold call' I completly understand. Sometime we do use outsource companies to make these kind of calls and as they don't have access to our internal systems it can take a while before any notes they leave show up on your account.

Yep, Ive replied too, 90 mins ago and still no reply.

The last forum sent email I replied to with security details was never answered, hence my impatience with this one.

Im actually crazy enough to be considering giving you more of my hard earned cash, you'd think Vodafone would be keen on this ha...

I have had the same call from that number offering me an upgrade early because i had the samsung H1. i was offered the htc desire hd and was told i would get a call back when it was in stock but have heard nothing. but this still worries me as its a cold call and vodafone cs seem to know nothing about early upgrades for people with a samsung h1.
