Porting Number Mid Contract?

I've currently got two contracts with Vodafone, one on which is my main number and is due to expire next month.

Would it be possible to port the number of my expiring contract onto my second contract even though the second contract is about halfway through it's term?

Re: Porting Number Mid Contract?

Unfortunately, you would be unable to do this.  The Vodafone number on your second contract will be tied into the contract until it expires or is terminated paying the early termination fee.

If you would like to keep your first contract number, you could take an upgrade for the number and cancel out your second contract when it expires.  Alternatively, you could put the number on PAYG and take out a contract at a later time.

Oh well, it looks like I'll be taking the main number away from Vodafone to another provider then.
The only way that Vodafone would be able to keep me as a customer would be if they were to let me port the number and use a single contract.

Re: Porting Number Mid Contract?

The number is 'in contract', you cant go swapping contract numbers around.

This would be the same for any mobile network, you have made a commitment and the number is tied into the contract.
