Price increase???

[ Edited ]

I just signed up to VF iphone 5 contract yesterday...and now i've just got a text saying:

"From 1 November your monthly line rental will be increasing but by less than inflation. The cost of Premium Rate calls will also rise. Find out more about these changes at www.vodafone.co.uk/change &enter the code: ZC60PRA25"

Seriouslyy??? I've just entered a contract to pay a fixed fee for 24months and then 24hours later you're telling me it's going to increase??? Surely once i'm in a contract that is the price i pay for 24months, there shouldn't be any changes unless VAT changes?

Re: Price increase???

Hi there chetan86 - welcome to the forum!

Vodafone can change the prices at any point as per this section from your T&Cs:

7 Changing charges and terms

a We may occasionally change or introduce new charges. If we believe any change in our charges will not disadvantage you, we may include it without telling you. However, if we increase our charges, we’ll give you at least 14 days' notice

The prices that you signed up at are the minimum prices for the period of your contract. From the information I have on this the increase in the tariff, the average is going to be 59p for the majority of customers. Please take a look at the statement from Vodafone here

I am not sure why that link isn't working properly and can only surmise that the information hasn't been updated yet.

Re: Price increase???

Hi Everyone,

Please accept my apologies. The link in the message is incorrect. If you click the link above now you'll see the box to input your code, as I've edited it.

If you've just upgraded to an iPhone 5 with a new price plan, the changes don't apply. It's just that the data collected for "who needs to be sent a text" would have been done before your upgrade. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Tom

Contract and price increases

Posted from Facebook
I have been with Vodafone for a long time, you have sent a text about your increaes, my contract expired back in July, I was waiting for the iPhone 5 to be launched, but if I renew my contract with you then I will loose half of my data allowance, you just don't look after existing customers, think its about time I went to another provider.

Line Rental increase txts

[ Edited ]

I have recieved 2 txts today about Line rental increases from Nov 1st.

they include a URL, allegedly to 'Find out more'. This links to a page on Roaming charges.

Where is the information on 'Line Rental' increases?

Have tried calling 191 (3 times) 'Advisors are busy ....' Surprise!

Sporadic Price Rises

I was wondering if as Vodafone have raised the price of my fixed contract twice, once by rounding it up to the nearest 50p to make it as they put it "SIMPLAR" and again due to their own operation costs rising, if this is in fact a change to the terms and conditions which would allow me either to cancel my contract completely, free of charge? Or maybe it's a situation where I would be allowed to switch to a lower monthly tariff?

It seems that if Vodafone can put charges up as and when they want, why can’t I lower my monthly bill and change the services I require as and when I wish?

Please give me a reason Vodafone. Im not a happy customer

Re: Price increase???

Really not happy about this either. I have only just signed up to a 2 year contract, and now you've decided to CHANGE the terms of the contract i agreed to. Will seriously be reconsidering my options in the future, and will be warning anyone considering going with vodafone from now onwards to reconsider.

Re: Goodbye Voda

Can someone from Customer Services please contact me again.

Decided to keep the phone only yesterday as the representative that has been looking after my case was so convinced that I'll not be over charged again.

Today I get a text saying that my line rental is going up!!!!! WHAT!!!!! The text said go to voda changes and put the code in, well this didn't work. So phoned Voda and as the lines were busy I used the call back facility and was impressed how it worked. Anyway got through and spoke to someone in billing who couldn't tell me how much it was going up by. Tonight I've got another text saying the same thing. Tried logging on to my voda account but I can't even do that now, "there's a problem with your account". Well there certainly is, I've still got it.

The phone has got to go this time, I'm not standing for this anymore.

Re: Price increase???

Mine is 80p a month! Vodafone are just a joke - how on earth can you enter into a 24 month contract and then them change the price within that period! It may all be perfectly legal and allowable in contract terms but another example of appalling service from Vodafone. And to add insult to injury you can't speak to anyone as they are extremely busy - joke, absolute joke. Well Vodafone when I can, I'm off to another network and will NEVER be back.

Re: Price increase???

Hi,

My wife also got a text (I haven't had one as yet) - following a chat with an online assistant, she provided a link that worked and it turns out her 24 month contract (held for 6 months so far) will increase by 80 pence for the remainder of the contract.

As mentioned above, VF can legally do this according to the T&C's but the 'minimum price' is never mentioned when you enter into the contract. Presuming everyone believes that once the contract is signed @ £36/month for 24 months it means you pay that?

As VF haven't increased the price by more than the RPI we have no get out clause which we can enforce. I also cannot find anywhere that we are allowed to reduce our monthly plan anymore. Have they also changed that?

Shocking way to treat loyal customers VF. There's 3 of us in this house who won't be staying with you when contracts end.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Price Increases

I would like Vodafone to acknowledge that today they have lost a customer of over 12 years. I have received 2 text messages informing me that I my contract is to be increased from November 2012 today. I tried the link they sent via text and that did not work on my phone, I then spoke to a very rude lady from customer services called "Pakiup"!!!! She informed me that it was only 10p-20p per month and basically so what. I told her that Vodafone has now lost a customer as I extremely unhappy that Vodafone can increase the costs but I cannot amend my contract at any point during the term of the "contract" and again the response had the attitude of 'so what'. She refused to email me copies of my contact and T&C'S, would only refer me to this website, and would not email me the cost of this change in writing, I since discovered why she would not commit. (see below). The terms and conditions I want are not the generic ones on this website. Vodafone, please forward me ASAP a copy of my original signed contract and a copy of my contract at my last upgrade that I physically signed or the electronic signature where I confirmed I was aware that Vodafone could increase my contract cost part way through my contract. Yes I can see the on-line ones, but I want the one that Vodafone referred me to at the point of upgrade or a proof that at the time of upgrade Vodafone ensured I was aware of the terms of the contract and clauses. Would Vodafone explain how you can change the cost of my price plan yet I cannot amend anything until June 2013 when I can "upgrade". And can you explain why your poor customer service cannot post me documents that I am entitled to under the freedom of information act, or if she has no authority at least tell me how to obtain the original documents. To further infuriate me, after viewing the previous post I have finally found the place to put the code and I have discovered the very poor customer service person named "PAKIUP" lied to me and the increase is in fact 75p per month. SO MY IMPRESSION OF VODAFONE TODAY IS THAT THEY HAVE A POLICY TO LIE ON THE PHONE!!!!!!!! I have just found the Which campaign and I urge all Vodafone customer to sign up. http://www.which.co.uk/campaigns/technology/fixed-means-fixed/pledge-your-support/ So come May 2013 Vodafone, watch out for my PAC code request and 30 day cancellation notice. I look forward to your reply to the above and receiving copies of my terms and conditions. My account number is 244498879.

Re: Goodbye Voda

Hi,

Try this page:

http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/price-plans/pay-monthly/call-charges/rates/?cid=rdr-8597-03

The space to enter the code is on the right.

If it doesn't work, let me know and I'll try to edit out the link.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Thanks for your suggestion but unfortunately it has gone too far and I really need contact with Vodafone. There are other issues not raised publicly.

Hi,

No probs - if the link worked it would have shown you the increase you could have expected.

More ammo for you in the battle...
