Problem with contract

When I upgraded my phone last year I was told I could check my data usage via the app and that I was getting 5gb per month included (this showed up on the app and online), however after going over 500mb I was being charged even tho online and on the app it stated i had free data left so I kept going into a store to get them refunded eventually I was told that any data charges upto the 5gb would be refunded untill the problem was resolved, two months ago I was told that I had to accept a 1gb a month contract as they couldnt find a contract giving me the 5gb I was advised with the handset. Which I had to agree to and i havent gone over that limit however there are still some data charges that have not been refunded from before the change to the 1gb contract even tho I was assured any charges would be refunded.
I would like to know when / if the charges will be refunded and if I will ever be able to get the 5gb a month I was sold with the phone as I only went with vodafone because I was getting the 5gb of data and that I had always recieved good customer service, I could have gone with another provider and had a cheaper deal with Unlimited data.

Vodafone never offered 5GB data with phone plans, but I think if you search the forum there was a known issue where the contract was for 500MB but showed as 5 GB online, you would probably have to refer to your original paperwork / welcome details, to get that resolved. As its account specific you will need to wait for someone from the Tech Team to come along or use the Contact Us details at the bottom of the Vodafone web site

The support from bertyb is spot on, we have never offered 5GB data with a phone however we have seen examples of this being shown in 'My Account'.

I too had the 5gb bolt on for £5. have had since May 2011, all done via the telephone so no evidence! I've recently changed my minutes plan and as a result the data bolt on was removed even though I NEVER asked for it to be removed, now I'm being told that there isn't a 5gb data bolt on.
I did get the guy to check what bolt on I had when he was changing the minutes and confirmed that I had 5gb and as a result there are several friends and family members I have told about this who would like this also added but I am now being advised that they have never had a 5gb bolt on for phone contracts.
This isn't the first time that I've had a problem like this, but persevering has had results in the past!
