Hey, i'm 18 months into my 24mth contract now so have begun to think about possibly upgrading early and about all possible options.
One option is to use a third party online mobile retailer.
I was wondering, with the upgrade option (through a 3rd party) would it be possible for me to cancel and pay off my contract, and then use the upgrade option through the 3rd party site in order to keep the same number and stay on vodafone?
Thanks for any help, just thinking through all options atm and my early upgrade isn't availble until next week so if the offer from vodafone is as good as the online retailer i'll do it through vodafone ![]()

Hi ngy27
You can cancel your contract at any time however it will be subect to an early termination fee.
This can be worked out as follows:
(number or months remaining X monthly contract cost) -VAT@20% = Early Termination Fee.
This is followed by a 2% discount on your final bill.
A call to customer services on 191 will be able to give you the exact figure for your contract.
Upgrading early will never give you as many options as new customers would have as you are still in contract and paying off your existing phone. If you were to leave it to the actual end date of your contract you would get much better offers, and in a lot of cases much better offers than new customers.
Depending on the deal you are being offered Vodafone ay be able to match it.
Best thing to do is contact the @vodafoneukdeals twitter team. They specialise in upgrades and new lines! For info on how to contact them head over here and follow the instructions. They are a small and very popular team so they may not reply straight away, stick around though as one of the team will get back to you as soon as they can.

If I did cancel and open a new contract by buying the contract from an external retailer is there anyway to keep my number?

To anyone interested, i've discovered the answer after digging around the forum!
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-Service
Basically you change your number to pay as you go and then have the number ported to your new pay monthly phone

Hi ngy27,
Thanks for your post. Many thanks as always to Nabs for that top advice.
We’d like to see if we’re able to help. An email is on its way to you.
Just reply to that and we’ll be in touch. We are incredibly popular at the moment, so it will be a few days before we’re in touch after you’ve emailed.
Let me take this opportunity to show you how Vodafone like to say thank you; take a look at VIP.
Cheers
Ian
