Hi, I'm on the following new contract with an iphone 4s...
£41.00(Inc. VAT)
Your Plan comes with 900 minutes, unlimited texts, 750MB mobile internet, including Vodafone Data Traveller and 2GB BT Openzone Wi-Fi
I have just received an email to say my online bill is ready and find that it totals £72.08! Most of which is for the following:
Y4 24IP 900M UTX 750MB WF E up to 12 Dec - £67.68
Can somebody please explain this? My account suggests I have only used the following:
- 0minutes used
- 900 minutes left
- 6texts used
- Unlimited
- 5MB data used
- 745 MB data left
Solved! See solution

Your first bill will always be higher due to be billed pro rata until the date of your billing cycle and being charged one months line rental in advance.
A quick search of the forum will provide you with previous threads with help and an explanation of how your first bill is calculated and why it is higher than expected.
The totals showing at the end of your thread are the pro rata totals to date. As soon as you are out of the pro rate period, you will be able to view your full usage.
If you give Customer Care a call, they will be able to confirm your billing cycle date and when your allowance is refreshed each month.

Thanks...
Do you mean the line rental of £41 per month?
Apologies but I'm new to all of this contract stuff, as I have been a PAYG customer for as long as I can remember. The phone is only really used for incoming calls and checking emails. I have it set to use wireless (BT home hub router) so I hope there are no charges there as far as my allowance?!? Or should I be using the 3G?
I'm also yet to receive the £50 cashback offer from when I bought the phone.
