Unable to send outgoing message on Vodafone Mobile broadband - Timeout Errors

Please can someone advise how I can rectify the problem? I hope this isn't a stupid "newbie" question......
I am new to Vodafone Mobile Broadband and have just purchased a new dongle and sim card from Vodafone. All works fine and I generally get a good connection.
I have Windows Mail configured to access business emails on rediffmailpro. I've not changed any settings on the account as it works when I use in Europe with other network provider options. However, when I open Windows Live to send and receive it errors when sending email and the reasons given are timeout.
I did some digging and found that registering for 360 service and setting smtp.360.com as outgoing server sorts the issue, but when I registered for 360 service the below message shows:
Sorry, you can only use this service if you registered for it before 30 June 2011.
However, you can still access Music, Apps & games or My Web
My current account settings for outgoing has stmp.rediffmailpro.com at port 25.
Kindly help. I've loads of business emails to send and I cannot use the web interface.

Hi vrajalc
Let me firstly welcome you to the Vodafone eForum family. It’s always a pleasure to see new people around here.![]()
The instructions to use smtp.360.com as the outgoing mail server, was the correct procedure at the time it was posted. This has since changed with no new registrations to this service allowed.
There is an easy enough way around this though using a similar principle. where the outgoing server does not need to match the incoming server or the address you're sending from.
All you need to do is register for a free email account such as Gmail or Yahoo! And select their outgoing server as your default. With Gmail, there are instructions as to how to set up the servers for mobile devices when you log into their web page, so just follow the correct set of outgoing settings, and all should work just fine.
Alternatively, your email provider may have specific settings for mobile devices to use its outgoing email servers. If you check their website, they'll generally have these listed for you if that's the case.
Let me know if you’ve any further questions.
Regards
Trev

I have a similar problem with my new HTC Wildfire. i can receive email using a non Gmail POP account but cannot send e mail. I have a Gmail account and would like to use that but with emails having my non gmail address. I think the reply suggests this is possible but where can i find the instruction to do this?
Thank you

Hi DoctorFoster,
Welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all of the team.
You don’t need to worry as it is possible to have your emails sent from a different email address when you are using Gmail.
To set this up you will need to log into your Gmail account, select settings, select account and import and under Send email as you will need to click on send mail from another address.
This will then open a new box, enter what name you wish you emails to show as when they are sent, enter the email address that you wish to send them from and click next.
Select Send through Gmail and click next step, click send verification. Once you have received the verification email you can either click the link in the email to verify the email address or enter the code from the email in your Gmail account in the box provided and select verify.
Once this is complete you will then see the new email address appear under the Send mail as option and you then need to select make default next to the email address.
Give this a go and let me know how you get on.
