Upgrade to Samsung Galaxy s2

Hey new user here.

My account says that i am able to upgrade my contract on the 12th of July. As i despise my phone I was hoping to maybe upgrade a bit earlier but the deals I've looked at don't seem all that amazing. I'm looking to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy s2 and the only deal i saw that i'd consider was a 24month contract, £49 for handset, £36 a month, 900mins, unlimited texts, 750mb of data(with the 25mb euro roaming and 2GB BT openzone),  this seemed not bad. But i was wondering if i wait til the 12th of july will the upgrade options be better? after some research i found out someone got: 18 month contract, free phone, 900 mins, unlimited texts and 750MB data for £27.50/month and that was agreed before the phone was even released, and this seems like a hell of a better deal!!

Any info/help would be great,

Cheers,

Bob

Re: Upgrade to Samsung Galaxy s2

Hi there,

Like drummerbob I am looking to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S2. I've patiently waited over the months for my early online contract renewal date; only to login and find out I will have to pay at the very least £50 to get the handset.

I've had a look through your forum and like a lot of other posters I don't understand why you make you such a big fanfare of the early upgrade option, only then to find out to get a relatively decent handset I would have to pay an additional £50 on top of a long contract renewal.

My current contract is YPL 24PRM 600m UTx VP VM and on top of my renewal I wanted to put more business Vodafone's way by seeing if I can get a Blackberry Curve for my son under contract as well. However, at the terms and prices I am being offered I am seriously considering of paying up my contract early and signing up with another provider, as it seems the only really good deals are reserved for new customers.

Not sure why loyal long term customers are treated this way? Would be interested in hearing a moderators comments.

Cheers

Re: Upgrade to Samsung Galaxy s2

Hi Weelki, welcome to the eForum - I'm glad you found us!

At the moment, the early upgrade option can sometimes involve a fee as we're allowing you to upgrade and change your handset up to 6 months early - the fee can depend on the handset you want, and varies from customer to customer as all of our upgrade quotes are unique to you now.

That said, I can help you with your upgrade and get you the Galaxy S II :smileywink:

I've sent an email to the address you signed up with, if you reply to it we'll give you a call and run through your options for an upgrade.

Kind regards

Paul

Re: Upgrade to Samsung Galaxy s2

could you help me too? i have just paid for this option with the early upgrade and im gutted to have recieved an email stating the handset is out of stock for 4 weeks! My money has been taken and my tariff already changed putting me on a higher tariff. well if the handset isnt avaliable then i want to cancel and not bother, the deal is very expensive anyway as its £46 per month, far more than for new customers. Feel a bit hard done to. :smileysad:

Re: Upgrade to Samsung Galaxy s2

It really is time that it was made illegal to take money for goods/services before they are shipped/provided.    This would halt the selling of vapourware at a stroke, and also force companies to provide proper stock information to their sales force and customers. Thankfully there are companies out there that already trade this way !

beckiemj, I think you have the right to cancel up until seven days after you recieve the handset, but you might find it faster to do so via 191.   Or not, as the case may be....      In the meantime I'll repeat the advice I've offered others - if having the handset immediately is important to you, then do your upgrades via a bricks-and-mortar store because it's much more difficult for them to take money from you until they can prove they've got the goods in stock .

Re: Upgrade to Samsung Galaxy s2

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't know if you can see my earlier posts but I genuinely feel coaxed into this upgrade. To be told that I have to wait 4 weeks when I need a phone as soon as possible due to mine being broken is ridiculous. Trouble is Vodafone have me where they want me as I opted for the early 6 month upgrade. I just hope someone from Vodafone can ring me to discuss? Any moderators able to do this?
