Upgrading My Phone Early

Hie

I am 12 months into my 24 months contract and want to upgrade to iPhone. I got HTC Desire HD when i signed up with with 300mins, 500MB data and Unlimited minutes. I lost the phone on train  in april this year and coz i didnt have insurance, i bought a Blackberry which i have been using the past few months. i have had enough of blackberry and i need a new phone.

is there anyway i can upgrade to iphone for 12 or 18 months, on the same tariff i got with HTC? i am ready to pay £200 upfront and £45 a month.

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

Good evening Maggy3,

How unfortunate that you lost your phone on the train.  I know how frustrating and disappointing this can be.

We’ll certainly be happy to see if there is anything we can do to upgrade you this early into your contract however we’d need to take a look at your account.

I’ve sent you an email to the address you registered on the eForum and so if you could reply with all the information requested we’ll be in touch with you to discuss the options.

Many thanks,

Phil

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

Hi

I was wondering if it is possible for me to upgrade early too, I have 9 months left on my contract and have sadly broken my phone :smileysad:. So I was wondering if i could upgrade early even if it mean adding the 9 months onto a new contract or paying a small fee?

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

HI there

Vodafone's current upgrade policy is 75 days before the end of your contract.  As you have 9 months left on your contract, I am not sure if they will be able to do anything for you. If they can, one of the eForum Team will be along to drop you a message with details on how to get in contact.

Hi Melissa1487,

To be honest I don’t think that there is much that we can do if you are this far away from an upgrade however, I would still like to take a look to see if there any options available.

So that we can do this I have sent you a quick PM, please follow the instructions on the PM that I have sent to you and one of the team can take a look at this for you.

You can find your PM inbox here.

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

Hey, I've had my BlackBerry Torch since June last year and I got it on a two year contract but recently my phone has started to become more and mohe unreliable....in does a full reset randomly, the timer comes up very often, it starts to lag in some apps, baring in mind I deleted most of my apps now to see if freeing up memory would help....but sure enough it didn't and I I'm getting pretty tired of it now. I was wondering if, upon release, there would be any way of me upgrading to the iPhone 5?

Please let me know if this is possible,

Maxie

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

I'm just looking to find out if there's anything that could be done to allow me to upgrade to the iPhone 5.  I cant upgrade until March via the website.

Hello Maxie and rockabeats

If you look around the forum, you will find many other threads asking this question.

The earliest you would be eligible to upgrade at a subsidised cost is no earlier than 75 days before your present agreement ends.

If you want the i phone 5 now, you will have to pay off what you owe on your present contracts which will leave you free to get a new contract for the ip5.

Alternatively, take out a second contract for the iphone 5.

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

I had an email today saying I could upgrade to the Iphone 5 but when I logged in it says I cant upgrade until March 2013, what a tease :smileysad: lol. Is there no way I could pay some money up front and add extra months onto my existing contract so I could get the Iphone 5 now? I'm currently borrowing a phone from a friend as mine is broke could do with one asap lol

Thanks

I had the same email earlier this evening. I got all excited only to be very disappointed when i tried it. Oh well.

I'll be interested to see what Vodafone say!

I'm interested in upgrading too, my upgrade date is in January. Based on tonights email are Vodafone going to come up with something?

Thanks

Re: Upgrading My Phone Early

Hi Maxie

Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum.:smileyhappy:

AnnS is spot on here in relation to upgrading early.

Please can you ensure that your device has your contacts backed up and that you have the latest software for your device.

I would also recommend ensuring that your service books are up to date.

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Highlight any of the numbers > press the BlackBerry Button then register

If you are still experiencing difficulties a factory reset would be the next step or alternatively please take the device to your local store and one of our experts will be able to take a look and advise you of your best options or alternatively we can arrange a postal repair.

Hi Melissa1487 and Paulc1970

Thank you for your posts and I can certainly understand the disappointment with this.

The emails have been sent using the information provided when registering interest on the website, you are able to upgrade in the last 75 days of your agreement.

Many Thanks
