Vodafone Billing - Can bills be sent as an email attachment

I would like the option for Vodafone to email me my bill as an attachement.

Is this possible?

Since going paperless I have to log into to vodafone.co.uk, find bills, download them, then send them for processing with my accounts. This all takes valuable time, especially when you have to do this for each utility company.

Ideally if they were emailed I would automattically forward them for processing and VAT.

Anyone else find this an issue?

Vodafone Billing - Can bills be sent as an email attachment

When I asked to have my itemised bill sent to me via email I was informed that this was not possible - but that they has just requested a paper bill be posted to me instead, which I received a few days later.

On my next bill I noticed that I had been charged £1.50 for the paper bill I did not ask for, and I was not informed of the charge during the original phone call to ask for an email copy.

Admittedly they did refund the £1.50 after I complained but I believe it should not have been there in the first place.

Vodafone Billing - Can bills be sent as an email attachment

Hi gulcalder

Welcome to the eForum :D it is always good to see new faces on here.

I am afraid to say that it is not possible to send your bills on email.

This is a very insecure method to send details out, with My Account you do need a password that only you should know.

I know with a few of my utility bills it is not possible too, and I can see the benefit of what you said, but I don't think that this will be something that will change.

Thanks Martin for your prompt reply.

OK I agree there is a minimal risk that emails may be read in transit but there is also a risk that someone else could open your post. Information contained in an invoice is not what I would call top secrete (maybe Vodafone's security team would disagree). I would put it in the same category as giving someone a cheque which contains your own bank account and sort code details at the bottom - low risk.

If I were given the option and shown the risks before signing up to have my bills delivered by email I would happily do so.

In the short term could you go about getting the link in the current "Your Vodafone bill is ready" email to point to the actual bill in question, rather than the generic
www.vodafone.co.uk/myaccount
page, obviously this would also need to go via a login page?

This would at least save having to navigate through the entire billing section of the website before finding the required invoice.

Re: Vodafone Billing - Can bills be sent as an email attachment

Hi Lena, welcome to the eForum!

I cannot send you an email at this point as the address you posted was unclear - I could not tell if the name was meant to be included as well due to the spaces, and neither matched the address registered on your eForum profile.

In order that we can send an email, can you please update the email address as needed on your eForum profile and confirm this has been done here. We will then use that address to contact you.

To amend the email click on "My eForum Settings" on the top right of the main eForum screen, then select the Personal Profile tag and click Email.

Please note we do not have your password for My Account - this is something you select. If you do not know this, then click the "remind me link" below the "Sign In" button and follow the instructions there. Keep in mind that this is a different registration to the eForum, so you may not have used the same username.

Re: Vodafone Billing - Can bills be sent as an email attachment

I am not sure why Vodafone UK says email is insecure when the exact same service is being promoted in New Zealand (and I believe Australia). http://www.vodafone.co.nz/specials-promos/email-billing/

Is email somehow less secure in the UK?

Companies make up all kinds of nonsense. Clearly Vodafone has a lot of inconsistencies.
