Vodafone Message Center Appearing On Bill

Hi,

I am abroad at the moment, and am keeping a close eye on my bill as I know how easy it is for smartphones to roam. I noticed that a mobile number has sent 10 texts to me in the course of a few hours. The number is 07785016005, which is the Vodafone SMS Service Center. Now why on earth is this number texting me, charging me 35p a time and all the while, my phone showing no record of receiving these phantom texts??

Please look into this as a matter of urgency, as I can assure you I'm not in the habit of paying for something that, as far as I can see, is unjustified.

Many Thanks,

Mark J

What phone are you using? Is it an iPhone and are you using FaceTime?

Hi markjordan1981,

Do you have any voicemail messages in your inbox? These may be notifications that you have voicemail waiting to be listened to.

With that and the failure to receive messages in mind, have you been able to receive other messages or calls on your current roaming network?

Hi,

I have four messages but then won't let me logon to my mailbox. Apparently my PIN is incorect, even though it isn't! I am not given any other options, it just cuts me off. I am not happy about paying 35p per text when it's not needed. Plus why is there ten messages when I only have four voicemails in my inbox?

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Vodafone Message Center Appearing On Bill

When you send texts whilst abroad they are all listed as a charge to the Vodafone message centre +447785016005, regardless of who your sending them to.

If you look at the other part of your unbilled usage, the actual number you've sent texts to should have a zero charge next to them.

These are NOT voicemail notifications.

Hope that makes sense!

Re: Vodafone Message Center Appearing On Bill

Right, that makes sense! I did wonder why a text would show up as free! Is there any way of accessing my mailbox while I'm aboad?

Thanks,

Mark
